It should be a ticket. 15 over is insane anywhere besides the interstate. I’m not a ‘speeder’ but I can at least get going 15 over on the interstate.

If people had to have a license to drive them I wouldn't care, but its the 11...12.. 13 year olds who are driving them who are not following the laws of the road. They ride through my neighborhood and while the traffic isn't bad in the neighborhood, I live on the main street that leads to out of the subdivision on both sides so its a little more traffic and I see it all the time. Kids are driving them with other kids with them and they are not paying attention. One day there will be a driver not paying attention as well and its not going to be pretty.

But worse that the golf carts are the 4 wheelers. They are not on them as much, but when they are.. And this includes adults, they are flying by. I personally think its kind of selfish because there will be an unfortunate driver who will have those few seconds that they took their eyes off the road or whatever.. And if it ends up being a tragic situation they will have to live with it for the rest of their life.

A lot of river Parish towns use these. Lots of extended family close by to visit, eat dinner, etc.

what I like are the ones driven by 10 year old girls while a grown woman holds a 2 month old in the passenger seat.....I swear I've seen this more than once in my neighborhood.

The second best are the ones with 10 kids in a car/sid-by-side, no lights on and it's 8:00 pm nearly total dark.

These things are one F150 baw not paying attention from a 8 person fatality in a under 35 mph zone.

The real problem is when this is in neighborhoods with kids riding bikes and such. It’s a big issue in my hood. Recently a kid was run off the road because some other kids were driving a golf cart and paying zero attentions.

shite is damgerous and needs to stop before a child gets severely injured

Major roads in beach towns it’s bull shite. Country clubs and good neighborhood streets, no problem.

I’m against golf carts in general.

Golf is meant for walking.

They have started ticketing them in my neighborhood. Unless they have been modified with belts, lights and properly registered with plates and insurance. Had a kid critically injured last year and ever since then they have been issuing citations.

Hate to break it to the OP, golf carts are fast becoming a residential transportation recreational vehicle. Places like Grand Isle have normalized it, and found an away to profit over it by selling tags. This year the legislature also allowed Golden Meadow to allow them along LA-1. Also places like New Orleans have use them as transportation vehicles if they are equipped with motor vehicle equipment like a horn and blinkers and are licensed by the state.
