When my brother was suffering in the hospital we told the doctors to end it. Took him off life support and gave him a lot of morphine. Pretty much the same thing.

Treat it just like abortion

Will of the people in the state

Should not be a federal issue

Oh like when you are basically in a coma and have the whole death rattle thing....yea, super easy then.

This thread is rather odd. Lots of twists turns and what ifs.

Look, dont want to be a vegetable? A living will is pretty economical. Many of you need to look into them. The rest, just keep the gun loaded or a knife handy. Easy as that.

After watching my Grandma deteriorate to nothing from Alzheimer’s; from forgetting little words, forgetting who people were including her kids and grandkids, to the final stages of gasping for air from I guess forgetting how to breathe....I told my wife if I get the same diagnosis and ever forget who she is it’s my time. I lived a great life but I’m checking out at that point. That’s not living.

My view: I support for terminal illnesses. A 25 year old voluntarily checking out due to a bad break up? Hell no. I support counseling in that situation.

Why should the state have dominion over if someone wants to end their suffering in this manner?

It is essentially post birth abortion. If one is legal the other should be or both should be illegal.

Well this is just stupid.

sorry you lost your brother. much respect.

If I'm in the terminal path & suffering/in pain/have limited quality of life =

I'm getting all the GOOD heroin I have the cash on hand for, shooting up a few times at home (gotta try at least once...ha!), then really loading a dose to ensure I'm OD'ing in my home/comfortable chair or hopefully out on my pond deck watching the sun go down or maybe come up.

Long as they are over 18, I'm ok with it.

Thoughts on Euthanasia?

The socialist healthcare plan coming to America most definitely supports the practice of euthanasia.

Once you become a net user of the healthcare system and cease to be a net financial supporter of the system you will be an eligible candidate for euthanasia.

Whether or not you agree with euthanasia.

In addition to watching 5 family members die horribly from various forms of cancer over the years, last year i was diagnosed with prostate cancer. While undergoing 39 radiation treatments, I sat in the waiting room at Mary Bird Perkins, surrounded by a room full of cancer patients. All suffering from various forms of radiation and / or chemo. For 39 days I watched those poor people suffer, often surrounded by suffering family members as well. As my treatment finished, I asked the 3 radiation therapists .....who see 60+ patients a day....if they would undergo chemo treatment. All 3 said NO. Sit in one of those rooms for a week or so & then come back here & tell me you will wait for God to call you home. Give me a lot of good weed & a sunny beach & family.

doing it by force for latoya and JBE, i fully support the idea

in general, i think its an individuals right to decide your own fate if you so choose and if you need someone to assist you that should be fully legal to do

Perfectly fine with a person facing constant pain and suffering and prolonging life for no reason just for that person to suffer

The state does not have dominion

The vote of the people of the state had dominion because it is one people bringing death to another (even if voluntarily)

100%

just seems like a miserable existence. I wouldn't want my family burning through cash to live in one of those facilities not knowing who the frick I am

Divorced from morality and honoring human life, I totally get the cold logic behind it.

But it is that, just cold rationalization and devaluing of human life. If you want to end your own life, honestly, we can't stop you, but don't bring the state, your family, and doctors into it. That means other people have to support the decision, commit the act, etc. That's morally wrong in and of itself.

I can never support it. As with all things, Humans are awful at setting true limitations on anything. There's always another reason, another perspective, another "truth," to have to believe.

You'll lose you're faculties and senses before you're able to make that decision for yourself.

Next thing you know, you're family has put you in a nursing home, you have a feeding tube because you can't feed yourself, and you'll spend your days with the other demented people until you die of some other health condition 10 years later.
