I was a teenager when the 1970 one came through Florida, it came through my mom's hometown of Perry. We're close to it now in SC. Not sure if I'll still be around for the next one in Florida, but looks like it will be close to my hometown. I remember the one in 1970 and I'm looking forward to today.

People who aren't at least mildly excited about it are weird

Anything a lot of the country will get excited about is usually a good time, if nothing else, it'll spawn a bunch of jokes and hot takes

You're supposed to take your glasses off when totality occurs. Otherwise you won't be able to see shite.

I would take them off if it was dark. That would be awesome.
