You know that conditions are assigned official hard ratings that you can actually look up, right? Tinnitus tops out at 10%, period.

Like most things, people are generally ignorant of how any particular system actually works and just go off of some Facebook article or what a friend of a friend that they know usually told them. That kid that posted in OP could very well have a 0% rating and was just talking shite.

Yep. Every vet at my old job was getting disability checks. All they have to do is say they have PTSD and they qualify. It’s a huge scam.

I am a veteran and do feel the military has many questionable people claiming disability. This would be one of many if we are being honest.

There is definitely those veterans that deserve it, and those should get every penny plus, but there is a LOT of bullshite going on right now

Does every position in the military carry the same risk of injury/death?
Does every person receiving benefits perform the same job or serve the same number of years?
Did someone force you to go into the military even though taxpayers are forced to payout benefits?
Taxpayers deserve to question military benefits and who deserves what amount.
I find few vets disagree with this statement. A guy that serves minimum time, never leaves a stateside base, and never goes into combat does not deserve disability to the same extent as those who saw combat.

I’ve seen group chats with at least a dozen veterans. The chat was discussing all the different percentages and what ailments are harder to deny and timelines on pushing the issues and how to properly explain the ailments, recommendations for certain doctors. All doing the arithmetic to help each other guarantee that gravy train rolling for the rest of their lives.
Bootlickers hate to hear it because ‘mUh they served their country’. Which we salute them for, but being a greedy mooch gaming the system (even if that’s the system in place) makes them a massive piece of shite and is the exact opposite of serving the country they supposedly love.

Depends on what he did. I was Coast Guard and deployed in Operation Iraqi Freedom, lived in a tent in a camp with the other branches. Coast Guard guy got blown up by a suicide boat while i was there.
