If someone said "you have to ride public transportation for the rest of your life, however; you have to pick one of two ways to travel. You can pick the metro or subway (NY subway) or one of the main cities train services for public use OR.... The public train service in India.. which one would you pick?
I would not want to be on a train, packed to the point there are people hanging on the outside of the train, so I would go with the one in the US... but either way you are picking misery.
