Tell you don't understand the difference between a fetus and its mother without telling me you're just ignorant.
From the very moment of conception, the fertilized egg (zygote) has a completely unique DNA profile that is a combination of the mother and father. That fact makes it a unique individual.
Anything that happens to that individual growing inside the mother is not happening "to her own body." It is happening to the baby/fetus/whatever you want to call it.

Why should anyone have ultimate control over their own body? It's not like I dutifully mailed 60 monthly payments in to GMAC and now I own the thing. It's a miracle that I am here. Beyond the miracle of creation, my parents had to wipe my arse and keep me from breaking my neck for several years. I don't think I can just do whatever the hell I want with myself. Why does anyone else?

He is absolutely correct. Nobody in Washington should be discussing or pushing their viewpoint on either side. It is a states rights issue. That was the whole reasoning used for overturning Roe.

The “if you’re not a woman you shouldn’t have a say” is about the dumbest retort you could have to any argument. My representatives in Washington aren’t eagles but I feel they’re qualified to pass legislation protecting eagles.
Also, what about the rights to life and bodily autonomy of the baby?
ETA: as noted about the conversations should be happening at the state level. California can encourage black people to abort every pregnancy the way its creators intended, they can have buy one get one specials. Go crazy killing your offspring.
