You'd think that if someone's financial straits were so dire, they'd find others in a similar situation and use combined purchasing power for housing and food. No one making minimum wage (unless they live with their folks) should have a place all to themselves.

Sob story about an irresponsible, young, single mother who's paying for her poor decision making skills. Do. Not. Care.

Living like kings.

In other countries they work long hours in brutal conditions for pennies a day.
They live in shacks and mud huts.
No running water. No AC.

People here should show some damn gratitude.

There should be no fat poor people. People in "poverty" shouldn't have cable TV and video games.

People in "poverty" here live better than the Kings of old.

They should live with family, but as a culture we don't really "do family" anymore.

Why does she only have one job? Where's the child support? Did she think about these things before deciding to have a child?

I don't really give a shite except for the mother part. That kid has no chance in life. If you have a single income of $7.50 an hour then you have no business raising a child and the government should relieve you of that burden. I'd prefer a kid who was raised by an orphanage than a welfare queen, and I'd gladly pay more in taxes to prevent people like this from raising another generation of shitty people.

Meanwhile Wal-mart and Mcdonalds are laughing their asses off while America supplements their employees financial short comings.

Why doesn't she work more than 15 hours a week?

Two wrongs don't make a right. You can't go kidnapping kids from their parents just because you don't like how they are raising them.

That's bullshite.

My grandfather was the oldest of 4. When he was 16, his father was killed in a car accident and his mother ran out on them shortly after. He raised his siblings in a small shack in E Mississippi with no govt assistance and they all, including him, turned out to be contributing members of society.

how many hours a week is her childcare? is it all free?

why can't she get another job if she has free childcare?

if she got another job, would she lose all these benefits...?

That's a cultural problem and no amount of govt subsidies will fix that.
