its glue, mostly solidified by now with a viscosity of 19670 centipoise units, kinda like axel grease for those old enough to have repacked a wheel bearing

Guarantee that woman in the video hasn't taken that mask off since COVID.

They’ve been watering it non-stop since it began leaking on Thursday. Might run out of water soon…
Meanwhile, not a peep from Newscum.

I'm in Newport Beach, if that thing explodes and release vapors into the air, I won't be opposed to masking up temporarily. That's some nasty stuff that will go airborne.

Oh yeah, this ain’t no funky reggae party, five dollars at the door…
It gets so real sometimes, who wrote my rhyme?
I've got the microwave
Got the VCR
I’ve got the deuce-deuce in the trunk of my car,
Oh yeah, if you only knew all the love that I found
It's hard to keep my soul on the ground
You're a fool, don't frick around with my dog
All that I can see I steal, I fill up my garage
'Cause in my mind
Music from Jamaica, all the love that I found
Pull over, there's a reason why my soul's unsound

One of the greatest to do it. Wrote a ton of great music and lyrics in a short period before his death. Saw him perform as a young teenager with my big sister somewhere outside Los Angeles. Awesome performance. Think he died a year after that.

No contingency plan for this type if situation?
Doesn't look that way considering the guy in charge said they need outside the box ideas, but they aren't giving up.

“We are not giving up,” Covey said. “We are not accepting the fact that we just have to let this thing fail. We’re going to try to find a solution.”
Buying time for engineers and hazmat experts to test what Orange County Fire Authority incident commander Craig Covey called “outside-the-box” ideas aimed at preventing a disaster.
Run!

Crews are now simultaneously preparing for three scenarios: the tank rupturing and spilling toxic chemicals, the tank exploding, or a slower “curing” process in which heavy water cooling could reduce pressure buildup enough to prevent a disastrous explosion.

You mean like foam with PFAs?

“We’re doing our best to figure out when or how we can prevent it. There are literally two options left remaining. One, the tank fails and spills a total of about 6,000 to 7,000 gallons of very bad chemicals into the parking lot in that area. Or two, the tank goes into a thermal runaway and blows up.”

The message was still not “if” but “when” a large-scale leak or explosion would occur — exactly what was relayed on Friday.
“This is going to happen unless some brilliant guy behind me here figures out how we can mitigate this incident,”

Checking in safe from Linda Isle.

No SPCC plan? How would a rupture cause it to run to the parking lot. Doesn't federal law mandates a berm that can contain the entire contents of the tank.

So you house a volatile chemical with the possibility of it exploding if the cooler quits and you don’t have an emergency back up or way to disperse the chemical safely?
What’s the point in having a shitload of regulations if you miss the biggest risk to the whole system?
