It's not an infection curve. It's a testing curve. Why don't we see the amount of people that test negative?

We’ve shut down the country over a virus that has a 97-99% survival rate.
Your post is an example of the loss of critical thinking in this country.

What's going on now isn't to slow the death rate but to slow down the number of hospitalizations and critical care patients. If that happens the corona virus death toll will not increase significantly but the deaths due to lack of medical access would likely skyrocket.

Just imagine if CNN reported every recovery instead if having a fricking death toll. This would be nothing.

US Coronavirus Cases:
24,142
Deaths: 288
Recovered: 171

Probably not what you were expecting

But there are in fact 23,619 mild cases so that's not too bad.

Here is a site with just numbers. Check out the shape of the graphs.

Actually, they would have headed the governmental warning. They were much more naive about the intentions of their elected officials.

FTR I am 58 and not particularly excited about all this but can see no other real solution.

And I guess you're not a Trump supporter, since he is pushing for this as well.

However, the media is 100% responsible for the misleading news

You're right. They should probably stop reporting the things said by people who don't know what the frick they are talking about.

You know, like saying it's a hoax, that only 5 people have it and it's going to go away in a few days, that only 15 people have it and it will go away in a few days, that the numbers in February are going down not up, that we have enough tests and anyone who wants one can get one, that we will have over a million tests ready to go two weeks ago, that a vaccine will be ready soon, that we've done a better job than anyone in the world preparing for this, that if you have it you can get better by sitting around or even while sitting at work, that schools won't have to shut down, that he had no idea or even why the pandemic team was fired, that we have hospital ships that will be ready within a week...

Yep, reporting al that misinformation has been a bad thing.

Don’t mess with OP man. He can bench 300 pounds. I know because he bragged to a bunch of strangers on a message board about it.

There are two posters in this thread that have been posting shite like this all week. Almost wearing each post as some kind of medal. I don’t get it but this is what social media gives you. 25 years ago the OP wouldn’t have had anyone around him to spout of this shite to so he could’ve just kept to himself. Now he has a platform.

Fox News and Republicans pushed that narrative from January of '19 until early March. It was just some hoax made to ruin the President. Do you have the memory of a goldfish?

The silent generation laughed off safety, they were better than us millenials, x'ers and the boomers in power.

We need to go back to that time where people weren't treated equally, the gov't disregarded the health and safety of it's citizens and freely experimented on the population. Backwards to Progress.

You are one of the idiots who don't get it. Yes, the economy will take a temporary hit. But this is about resources. If no action was taken there would be a lot more sick people. more people would have to go to the hospital. Eventually there would be people who would not be properly cared for because the hospitals would overflow. If everyone would just stop bitching and quarantine.. Prevent it from spreading around.. We can all get back to life as usual sooner than later.

Well I am 70, wife is 68 and we are doing the shelter in place. Every time you leave your home it will cost you on average $20 to $30 minimum. Now if you have that disposable income then go for it.

We pay attention to what the doctors are saying and we ignore what the great liar in the red hat says.
