I took a $8 per hour pay cut, to take a job that is 5 miles from my house, no OT, no weekends, and i get to sleep in till 6:30am every morning, compared to 3:30/3:45am in my past jobs. Even the sales position, i had to get up early, to drive 1 hour to work.

I miss the job with 17 weeks off, and other job, but i am happy, getting great sleep, feeling great, and wife says i'm not an angry man, like i was before at other jobs.

The employees that were authorized to work from home are allowed to continue to work from home, not all employees are technically allowed or equipped to work from home. We have two call centers tge one in North Carolina no problems, it’s the one in California.
Our parent company has call centers all over the country with little to no issues.
It’s only In California with entry level positions.

A lot in NOLA seemed to move on to other cities or moved further up the supply chain to fill jobs.

Got away from the service part of the industry.

Except it’s not just in NOLA, BR, or Louisiana, but all over the country this is plaguing us, and most assuredly not just in the service industry. It affects almost every industry, which is a very big reason for supply shortages all over the place.

They just noticed it because they went out to eat and it took a long time to get their food. It takes me a long time to get every single thing I sell these day, a whole lot longer than it ever did, and with a lot more uncertainty and inflation to boot.

I quit without a job when they wanted us to return to the office since my husband was made permanent work from home. Spending way more quality time together, no commute, and not having to go into an office that had less than stellar accommodations made the decision easy. I finally went back to work when travel opened up again because I wanted more disposable income. But I only applied for wfh and got one (actually 3 offers) fairly easily.

Many of my family members (some who I never thought I would hear of not working) quit, cut back hours, changed lifestyles, and got work from home Jobs once the lockdown forced them home. (I do have a huge family)

I know quite a few people that work while on SSDI too. ( all on the DL, of course)

Are you possibly saddled with debt to pay off because your parents told you that you had to go to college to make anything of yourself?

And here's the REAL reason younger generations are chasing $$$ over bennies. Bennies aren't going to pay off the useless degree.

News flash, these stores need to turn a profit. Labor costs cut into that. I guess that other option is to just not have these stores in rural areas and then there would be no stores. And she wouldn’t have her 50k a year job.

Lulz. Dollar General is a relative cancer in rural America. They broker massive tax breaks from municipalities and aim to drive small grocers out of business. They’re not struggling to turn a profit, they’re a whore for Wall Street and trying to enhance their margins.

Long COVID is a disability so this system will be comically unsustainable.
