If you kill somebody while drinking and driving the penalty should be punishable up to life in jail/ death penalty.

It would send a clear message to these fricks.

No, it wouldn't.

Drunk people don't think they are going to get caught with a DWI, much less that they will cause an accident, much less that that accident will injure or kill someone. If they did, they wouldn't do it.

Vehicular homicide already carries up to 30 years. You didn't know that, because no one cares, because no one thinks it's going to happen to them.

Sadly there are Tards on this board who think it's ok to drink and drive. Cops are being dickbags by having check points.

But the OT is what it is.

And they're germansing a catastrophic and fatal example of what their drunk driving leads to along with a message of frick drunk driving.

Some of these people are just absolutely warped in the head.

Always seems like the person a drunk driver hits is more likely to die than the driver themselves. Wonder why that is. (Not in this case in particular, but in general)

Drunk drivers tend to be relaxed when involved in an accident. Innocent victims tend to tense up when they see they are about to be hit. More injuries tend to occur when the body is tensed up during a sudden jar of the body.

What of some one who is 1.1 but drives better than a distracted mom and never has an accident ? Punish the results of behavior, not what could happen

I will NEVER understand why this board is so defensive over drunk driving. It boggles my mind.

Could be that being the hitter rather than the hittee is “safer” too

No doubt this guy is a POS. But plenty of people kill others in wrecks while not drunk.

Oh sure, that makes it better.

We can just give the drunk a few years in the big house and everything will be good despite him willfully getting behind the wheel knowing he was drunk/high.

It ended up saving his life in the end.

I think we can allow that this one time.

Germans as already mentioned. And OP is an idiot as already mentioned as well. Stricter laws have done nothing to curb this problem. But thanks for showing again you're a nanny state supporter so long as it supports what YOU think it should.

No one is saying that you idiot. Were saying frick you for being a lazy-arse reposter and frick you for supporting government intrusion on citizens in the name of "safety."

Go clutch your pearls elsewhere Nancy.

Stricter laws against murder have done nothing to curb it either.

Should we get rid of that to?

Why wouldn't I?

There is an activity that I hate and believe to be absolutely harmful and dangerous if not punished. And good thing that there are laws on the books punishing that activity.

I guess that makes me a nanny state supporter then.

Not that it makes a difference, but all of the news articles I've seen state he was charged with driving under the influence of drugs with no mention of a BAC.

Who's saying make drunk driving legal? Moving the goal posts. Try again.

Against all logic and reason. Good thing your law prevented this crash. Yup, you're definitely a nanny-stater.

Damm you're dumb.

I don't give a frick.

If you can't handle the message being reposted, then that's your problem, not mine.

Ok drunk idiot.

Well, I'm gonna tell you to go clutch your special bottle of alcohol like the good drunk you are.

Preferably not behind the wheel of an automobile of course.

You.

You literally just posted an article that has a title of "Abolish drunk driving laws".

Good thing your law prevented this crash.

If you had your way, there would be no punishment for it if laws against were not in place.

Yup, you're definitely a nanny-stater.

Says the drunk idiot.
