How far is your house from the tap? How many splitters are you using?

I dropped cable almost a year ago. I am happy as can be. I get every football game I would have excep the tThursday NFL game.

Go for it. You'll be surprised at how little you miss it.

The thing I miss most about getting rid of cable is not having a DVR.
Playon with PlayLater can act as a a DVR. I use it with no problems then stream to Ruku, etc

I use my neighbor's hbo go and my pop's espn. They both use my tools and hunting gear. Seems like a fair trade to me.

I'd rather pay $160 a months for internet and every channel offered and a phone line, and watch whatever whenever in my own home with DVR. You have fun counting pennies and having to bum content off other people.

This. Plus I have never "saved" money by hanging out at a bar all afternoon watching games. Christ, that's a sure-fire way to go broke.

I'd do it if it wasn't for sports and roommates to split the bill with.

I have to stream the Falcons(out of market) and it sucks. I'll go to a bar occasionally but spend more money there than a cable bill. Can't imagine doing that for college football Saturdays

That shite about listening to games is silly. I could watch anything carried on sec network or espn through Roku. All the locals com tthrough antenna. I am only missing NFL network... I have everything else.

If you want to keep cable, rock on... I love the setup I have and don't miss it a bit. Well, maybe dvr, but there seems to be a device for $200.00 that will fix that for me.

Edit : replied to wrong post.

This is my issue with this conversation. People are trying to save money but are unwilling to give up HBO etc. A plan to save money on cable should not include the requirement of someone else having to pay for cable to support your viewing habits.

I would gladly pay the $15/month just for access to HBOGo if it was offered

Well, I'm not saying that at all. I cut the cord, but couldn't have done it without a friend's login info. Would have ran right back to cable in a heartbeat.

Seems like that's exactly what you're saying. Why is it so hard to admit you're stealing?

Back when I downloaded lots of music, I could admit it was stealing. What makes this different?
