It is in fact very true. Which is why several people suggested "having" log ins for several premium content apps.

This statement:

Cutting the cord is much easier and cheaper if you steal content.

While technically factually correct, stolen things are cheap, it is not exclusive. You can be more than happy and see plenty of content without any of those premium logins or torrents. It's not that hard.

well for one, is there a reason you have to have all these TVs? If you constantly have guests or something and they need cable in there rooms, then there is really no way around it.

I didn't claim it was.

And my statement that you quoted still stands for this. Unless you think you'd somehow be less happy with more premium content.

Just admit you said to steal stuff so we can drop this.

There's no way you're ditching cable with all those people without inconveniencing them.

Roku 3 is pretty damn awesome... but fair warning, the remotes suck arse.

You can't control the volume with the Roku remote. I still need to use the remote for my receiver to adjust the volume.

I'd be pissed with more premium content. Too many options depresses me.

LSU games and other college football games is the main reason. Also, the draft, documentaries on ESPN, interviews, etc.

NBCSN - F1 races that get spoiled for me through various other mediums if I have to wait for it to rebroadcast on their app

I have been cable free for 3 months and don't regret my decision. I do regret having Verizon Fios. It sucks.

This is a great thread because I'm thinking of just having Cox internet and going with a Roku 3 in my rooms.
Exactly what I want, but I have Suddenlink for Internet. How can you get WatchESPN to work?

I know I'm going to get laughed at, but are there any cable/sat providers out there that offer contracts less than 2 years?

I listened to the games on LSU's radio subscription service and caught the free replays after. No need for cable. You can also go to a bar or restaurant or friends house.

I think we have 5 TV's now, and we sold one a few years ago in a yard sale. And gave another to a family member when we moved up here, so we could easily have 7. Two are sitting unused in my basement. An old 14 inch we had in a bedroom years ago, and the 25 inch I bought when I moved to an apartment in college.

We cut the cord months ago. Except Charter used to not be all digital and I was getting free basic cable just by using a splitter. Then they went digital, so I bought and installed an antenna in my attic. I still need to get back in there and run a power outlet and hook up the amplifier I ordered for it. But as of now I get CBS, NBC, Fox, and the local weather channels of some of those stations, CW, and a few other random ones. When I install the amplifier I should pick up ABC. Really the only reason I'm going through that is there are a couple of shows my wife watches on there, plus there are football games on there.

I have a Roku in my bedroom, a BluRay that streams in the playroom, and I'm eventually going to get another streaming device or smart TV for the 3rd one. We have an older LCD that is in our bedroom now, but I saw a 39 or 40 inch LCD Smart TV at Sam's recently, for around $300. If I do that, the Roku will go down to the living room. I have Hulu+, NetFlix, and Amazon Prime. Honestly I'm going to ditch the NetFlix at some point, I just have to show my daughter how to look things up on Amazon or Hulu first. But for now she likes to watch cartoons on my Kindle Fire and only knows how to do NetFlix. And my brother in law has U-Verse and gave me his log in for WatchESPN and HBOGo.

Uverse guarantees your price for 2 years, but only requires you to stay for 1.
