Plenty of great places in Colombia. I’ve been there, had a wonderful time, and everyone I know that has gone has said the same.

What’s funny is that if you go to those places, or Europe, or anywhere, their perception is that the US is crazy and dangerous is frick with all the guns and massive prison population. Reality is that the media doesn’t tell you about anything but the bad.
I left my phone in a cab in Cartagena after taking it from airport into old town. My hotel concierge called the airport, got to security, sent him a picture of me, and within 10 minutes, they had located the driver by reviewing video of me getting into the numbered car, contacted him, and he delivered the phone back to my hotel.
Do you think if you lost your phone at a major American airport they would get it back to you like that?

My ex gf was from bogota. Most of the country is a bad place. The northern part is nice like Cartagena. It’s crazy that they have Caribbean weather up north and in bogota the weather is 62 all year long. Never fluctuates
