I’ve always been an early riser — except in college —but now more than ever, I’m with you on feeling like the morning is wasted if I wake up too late. I love waking up before the sun rises, going for a workout, drinking coffee, and eating breakfast before going off to work. It makes me feel like I’ve already accomplished something right out the gate, and also makes me less anxious the rest of the day

Oh man I wish I could evolve to that. I wake up early pretty easily and consistently but I just can’t get into working out in the morning except maybe once every few months. Need to find a spark for doing that.

and one big reason is their funding has been cut, which has prevented them from attracting quality talent.

----This "funding has been cut" angle is just not true.
That's a straw man argument because the IRS budget has gotten bigger every year.
You may be thinking of "cut in rate of growth" but not actual cuts.

Besides, if you think it's a BAD thing that the IRS has less power to take your money, you live in a weird world.

A former head of the IRS once said about the people who call for higher taxes, that not one of them voluntarily sent in more money than they owed.

And here I am, just the opposite. The older I got, the less I believed in the mystical/magical sky pilot and the stories/teachings/pertinence of the Bible.

Not to say I've gone full rogue and treat people like shite, because I don't. I have respect for people and their views and consider myself an easy person to get along with. I just don't share that whole religious viewpoint on life and the importance some people put on it.

I used to make fun of people who played D&D or tabletop RPG games.

Now I DM a group of 5 other dads every 2 weeks for Dungeons & Drinking. It's a shitton of fun.

Used to lean left but now I'm a full fledged Libertarian.

The LGBT community never bothered me, but the older I get, the more annoyed I get with all the gender bullshite. I refuse to call someone They. I'll just avoid that person.

Stopped giving a shite about things that have no bearing on me or my family's life. Flag kneeling, BLM, Antifa, white supremacy, rebel flags, etc...don't give a frick. Just want to drink, cook, frick, and enjoy time with my family and friends.

I don't think that at all. I do think that if there's an issue I need to call the IRS about, I shouldn't have to be on hold for over an hour just to speak to someone, and that someone I speak to should be competent enough to help me with my issue.

Have you taken a look at the IRS in recent years? Ever tried calling them with an issue in recent years? The level of service is atrocious, and one big reason is their funding has been cut, which has prevented them from attracting quality talent.

You actually believe that if the IRS had a larger budget they would have “quality talent “? They would actually have greater numbers of what they have right now. FFS man.

Where I used to believe everyone had validity to their opinions based on their unique life experiences, the past 1.5 years has shown me that most are just idiots.

actually like waking up around 4:30am and it’s still dark. I like making coffee, the wife is still sleeping, and you have ‘private’ time.

Just don't forget to switch over from only fans to the new one! All good! Enjoy that "private time"

You'll never get this level of service from organizations that have zero incentive to provide it.

I think one of the reasons I despise most government so much is that I have spent countless hours as an independent contractor onsite at various gov facilities (state, local and fed) and seeing the behind the scenes neglect of their primary customer pisses me off.

Need an example? So many times I would walk around the cubicles and see people "working" with their phone off the hook, laying on the desktop.
