You're right.

I wasnt necessarily attention seeking. I've been part of this community for almost ten years. I've argued and laughed with the folks on here for a long time. This place has been my solace when i was halfway around the world and kinda alone.

This is a big step for me. And i guess i felt the need to share it with this place.

write some more country music lyrics like you just did to pass the time, you're pretty good
"Christmas in Rehab" is a country song that pret' near writes itself.

Motown or whatever is appropriate on your decision.

You'll enjoy toasting with soda so much more! Hopefully you get the right balance of medications.

Make sure you incorporate a healthy diet and regular cadio & weight exercises into the plan. Otherwise it won't work.

All the same I wish you well brother I hope it's less than 90 days before you're able to come back and keep contributing.

Good luck man! Accept any and all the help they offer you. I had to remove one of my guys from the military because we tried to get him help several times and all he did was tell the doctors what they wanted to hear. Stay in as long as you need to. You will come out better and stronger if you truly accept the help.

I listen to Marc Maron's podcast. He's been clean from drugs for like 15 years or so. He's not preachy or anything, but it comes up sometimes in interviews.

It's amazing how many of his guests (mainly comics, actors, and artistic types) have been to rehab and made it stick. Some do say it took a few rounds.

Hell, even David Crosby straightened up. If that dude can do it, then you can too.

Good luck, I can empathize. Once I got rid of the booze everything else I had going on went with it (depression)....

I still go to meetings on the regular, talk with my sponsor, work my steps.

Hit me up if you have anything you want to talk about.

Good Luck OP!

Try not to concentrate on missing the holidays this year. I'm sure your family and friends will GLADLY trade missing you this year for a lifetime of holidays going forward.

If they Doo bloodwork.. make sure they pull your testosterone and estrodiol. If that's off it can really make your issues more difficult.

I found my bloodwork terrible after years of an illness the side effects the medication for it did a number on my endocrine system. Once they figured it out and helped fix it made life a lot better.

Just a thought. We will say a prayer for you sir
