Good luck to you. Hopefully, you get to see the game. Take care of yourself and keep your head up.

Best of luck bro.
Here's me email if for some reason you want to just blow off some steam to someone that has been through it more than once.
Get everything you can from it. Open up.

Rehab only works if you are ready, if not you will be using again in no time.
Mine was a racket, they praised my openness until I refused their depression drugs and they couldn't charge me for them, then they gave me bad remarks, got two aspirin for a headache and they charged for the whole 25 pack tablet of them, bottom line is if you want you quit you will, if not then you wont, a facility is good to take away the temptation and get you over the hump but bottom line is it's up to you and if you really want to quit.

Well, I've got 5 days left up here. In whole, it's been a rewarding experience. Lots of classes. Lots of groups. Lots of meetings. I'm still not fond of AA, but at least now I can stand it and appreciate the good that comes from that program. I'm going to follow the Refuge Recovery path. It's a Buddhist based recovery program. It fits my mind much better than 12-steps. It helps that the man I connect the most with up here is in Refuge. He is one of the best people I've ever met.
Craving are minimal. I'm working through a lot of my shite (past traumas and abuse from childhood and the harm I've caused others). In Refuge, that's the first step, not the fourth.
I'm also taking the Vivitrol shot before I leave. That will certainly keep me on the straight and narrow. If booze doesn't work, why drink?
It's tough, but I've given myself over to these people for now. I've surrendered control for the moment. As a result, I've had time to work on my shite.
Well, that's my check in for the day.
I'm ready to come home...but still scared as hell.
ETA: Yes, I ended up doing 30 instead of 90. shite got expensive.

Is this a one time deal, or will you have to take another one in a couple weeks/month?

It's once a month. I have a scrip for 12 shots over the coming year.

Glad to hear you're doing good.

Just look in the mirror everyday and own and conquer it. You're probably going to have to do it every single morning. Accept it and conquer it. It may take a mere 5 or 10 minutes of staring in the bathroom mirror and splashing some ice cold water on your face it. This sounds strange, but "accept it and make it tap out." Go get a mug of black coffee and kick arse that day...every day.

30 days sober, treatment or not, is a huge fricking deal for someone like me. God willing, ill make 3 years in April.
