Bet some people don't believe this. Not me. I won't get fooled again. They were out there in the field. It was teenage wasteland.

Herman’s Hermits ? Are you trying to tell me they got into something good ?

I lived across the street from a shite dog and heard them practicing.....mmm.....hard to believe they practiced but they did.

Imagine watching a band named “shite Dog”? I mean if they are good you would be like that band “shite dog” is good but if they sucked you would be like they sound like “shite” dog.

Genius

In 1994 and 1995, Dave Mathews, Sheryl Crow, 311, and Marilyn Manson all played the Varsity. REM and Radiohead played at the PMAC in that time frame as well.

Yep, I saw REM at the Bayou when I was still at LSU in 81 or 82. The shite Dogs were still around back then. Great times on Chimes St. I also saw the Violent Femmes at the VFW Hall on Choctaw I think in maybe 1985.

I was at all of these. Alex Chilton opened for the Violent Femmes. Great show.

311 used to do three nights there. Sunday was all-ages.

I saw System of a Down at Grant Street in Lafayette. Their first album was released a couple months before. The weather was poor, so there was only about 50 people at the show.

Sid Vicious only lived a little more than a year after that event. Allegedly stabbed and killed his girlfriend, did 2 months at Rikers and OD on heroin first night out in February 79.

If I remember correctly Dave Matthews actually did a free show in 1994 and it was only $6 to see 311.

At the Bayou. $5 cover. 17 yo me was there. They stopped the show mid song to stop the slam dance / mosh pit & told em to cut it out.
