As a father is school age children, you don’t frick with carpool, man. We are all in a hurry and if you just follow the fricking rules, we all get to go home faster.

ETA: you guys can argue about the cop. I’m mostly upset that the other dads in carpool didn’t whip his trashy arse for fricking up carpool.

This is the part that has me most upset. I'd better calm down the cussing in public.

they are drawing up the papers. It is, or should be, a capital offense.

I am honestly shocked at the reception this story is getting

The majority of y’all are blaming the cop? Is this the same board that always talks about ‘kids these days being so damned disrespectful’ and ‘just follow the law and listen to instructions from the police and bad shite won’t happen to you’ ?

This douchebag was completely wrong for fricking up the carpool line and then on top of that, cursing out the police officer for no damned reason. He’s supposed to set an example for his children on how to act.

Y’all can’t have it both ways. Make your mind up

Correct. And the officer needlessly escalated the situation by trying to arrest him for getting his feelings hurt.

you understand both people can be wrong in this situation, right?

Feel free to count. Am I discussing this too much for you? What does this have to do with the OP?

Further reading shows that Billy Wayne drove away from the school. The deputy got the plate number, called in the guy fleeing from arrest, then went to his house to fight. He had just gotten Billy Wayne in cuffs when the second LEO arrived.

The deputy is also claiming that Billy Wayne almost hit him with the truck, putting his life in danger.

If the consequence is getting arrested, then you don't have the right now do you?

That guy deserved to have his arse kicked, shouldn't matter if it was administered by a cop or another parent. We ended up with the right result here

That guy is an idiot. He now has a shite ton of charges when all he had to do was say “ok” when asked not to park there

Didn't include it in the op but I guess I should have. Didn't want to include the whole article.

quote:

After contacting the sheriff’s office for assistance, the deputy gave dispatch the license plate information and truck description and said that the subject resisted arrest.

quote:

A check of the license plate numbers by dispatch came back with an address to a nearby residence. At the same time, the report noted Rhodes was calling dispatch asking for an officer to come to the same address to discuss the incident with Collins at the school. Officials said later Rhodes also made inflammatory calls about Collins to the school during that period of time.

quote:

The “officer” Rhodes requested from dispatch turned out to be Collins — who drove his patrol unit to the noted address, found Rhodes, and informed the suspect that he was still under arrest, the report said.

The guy called the police department from his house to talk to a police officer. A police officer responds and it's the same police officer that is when/where the struggle to arrest him happened.
