I’m not going to have a political argument with you on here. You’ve obviously got your head so far up his arse that you can’t see what’s right in front of you.

It’s kind of hard for Trump to argue that we should train teachers when his budget cuts money for education

this comment is retarded. Its called putting the money where its needed. He takes it out, he can put it back.

Why are you so dependent on the Feds to do it anyway? Let the locals pony up.

true. I'm not crazy about the idea of arming them, but it seems to be all the rage right now so...

Why are we not putting metal detectors in schools yet? Treat it like the airport each day.

What good does a metal detector do at the point the lunatic has entered the school and committed to killing people?

School shootings are never going to have a satisfactory resolution until everyone admits that the only defense a school has against a shooter is the people within it. Deny them the tools to defend themselves and this shite will continue and continue.

Green Acres won't like your views!!!!

Lets see what's in front of me:

- 401k up bigly YoY
- Have a bigger paycheck since Feb
- Removing too many frivolous regulations
- Brough back manufacturing jobs that not only pay more but some bozo said they would never come back.
- Immigration down YoY.
- Trade improving
- Self-sufficient on energy and now a big exporter
- Gave the military back its balls
- Neutered Obamacare
- Actually does what he says, unlike some other clown.

I digress though.

The Federal budget is set for the fiscal year, he can’t just do what he pleases with it, it needs Congressional approval that he won’t get.

And put it back? I didn’t realize this program would somehow turn a profit.

The President is the one pushing this idea, and if he really wants it to happen, you can bet your arse the Federal government would have to pay for it. A lot of state education budgets rely on Federal dollars, and the locals don’t have the money for books and teachers, much less guns and training.

Arming teachers is probably a bad idea, arming trained teachers is a good idea.

Most major PD's and SO's have a reserve program. Allow the teachers to go through those programs. They usually have an annual requirement of service hours for those programs. Waive it since they are on the government clock full time as teachers.

Nothing wrong with charging them a fee. District can pay it. Teacher can pay it. Teacher can raise funds through gofundme or PTA.

However, the teacher has some law enforcement training. Require him or her to go to range. Reserve program can keep track of scores and qualification. Don't qualify at that session, sorry, turn in your weapon until you do like everyone else does.

Oh, and the teacher has to carry it concealed.

If the teacher wanted to be a cop they would have been a cop to begin with.

I don't have a problem if a teacher wants to conceal carry that they can get a special permit and go through some type of training that would allow them to conceal carry on school property.

You’re a miserable POS. The Prez is doing fine, despite a year and a half of continuous negative coverage and a rediculously unjustified witch hunt.

every law enforcement agency from the local SRO to the FBI fricked up on the shooting in Parkland and your solution is to give them more power or to just trust them to do their job?

Sure, we'll just get Precrime to determine who the crazy people are so we can keep the guns out of their hands. Only knowing someone is crazy once they have shot up a school will be a thing of the past.

You're right, clearly the answer is to arm people even less qualified than that and let them take care of everything.

What about the law enforcement who was already there? Teachers are already underpaid and have to pay for school supplies out of their own pocket. But now we want to give them guns and law enforcement training?
