The Amalfi Coast is the Destin of Italy, I guess.

Nashville is very overrated

I love NYC and the energy. There’s no other city like it.

Rome? Seriously? If you can’t appreciate Rome then something is definitely wrong with you.

I disagree with your friends assessment of Paris. I found it super clean, only homeless I saw was around Eiffel Tower. I loved the city. Only negative was afew rude folks.

I'm a history buff, and would love Rome.

Asheville is living off past reputation.

Man, if those are your overhyped cities, then you haven’t traveled enough

Cairo is the #1 answer

Sitting in a small very authentic restaurant having a glass of wine and a little lunch after quite a bit of walking, a pretty 30-35 lady sits down followed by her partner who looked straight out of the sopranos 45-50- Never seen this before or since but with matching light violet suede loafers and nicely made suede sport coat to match. Waiter knows them, order drinks he brings back waters and they talk for a sec, All is still fine everyone happy making conversation - then the waiter passes by and the guy looks a little frustrated …waiter says something then the guy yells VINO VINO VINO getting louder each time. Waiter hurries off and returns quickly with wine and all is right with the world again. Crazy busy city -lots of people, grafitti and trash but SO much beauty as well!

I can see someone not liking Rome if they don't know or care about history.

I haven't been but I'd imagine it would be awesome to visit.

I get being ambivalent about the city itself but the surrounding scenery is arguably the most gorgeous on the Eastern Seaboard.

I wanna retire in the High Country of NC.

And Rome is arguably the most historically important city on the planet.

Enjoyed my visit to Ashville last year. Left there 3 days before the floods. Wouldn't mind living there but the real estate prices are nuts in the town. Prefer to move to TN since there isn't a state income tax and real estate taxes are more reasonable than TX.
Liked Rome but it is too crowded and touristy for anything other than a visit. You can't appreciate western civilization and European history and not visit at least once in your life.

Rome was awesome except for all the Indian dudes trying to sell you crap whenever you visited a tourist attraction.

Asheville is cool if you are into craft beer and/or hiking. Not sure why you would go there if you aren't into either of those.

St Peter’s basilica was pretty impressive, as was the Vatican. Never been to Asheville.
