The Timing of the release of the Alton Sterling investigation?

I posted this in the OT rather than the Poli Board, as I think there's a lot of folks that may be interested in this in BR/LA versus the more national topics usually on the PoliBoard.
Do you find it curious that two of the elected officials directly involved in this will leave office before the results are announced?
If this is under the control of the US Dept of Justice, did our president allow this delay so he could escape it? I'm sure Kip is glad he escaped it.
Surely they have come to a conclusion by now, what is their goal by delaying?

Doesn't it seem like the folks that believe the cops are at fault should've been demanding an answer before Kip and/or Obama left office? So they could hold those politicians accountable, and supposedly put pressure on Obama's DOJ?

they'll storm off to Facebook to brag about being there, supporting the cause, and spew other racial based lies about the city and police.

Those people are outraged when their local politicians and preachers tell them they should be. They typically have no first hand knowledge of these situations and get their info from someone telling them their version of "the facts" then they spread that info like the telephone game. They're used as pawns by the local politicians and preachers so they can gain more power and fame.

Outside opinion only, but if I the BR police chief, as soon as they schedule an announcement I would give control of the law enforcement aspect of it to the state police, let Edmonsen run it. Cause you know the new mayor will be looking for a reason to fire the police chief.
