Uh...Nope.
Beside being one of the most dangerous animals in the world they average 2.5 tons in weight and spend most of their existence submerged a foot or two under the water's surface.
I guess Hippos in Louisiana would be a good thing if you own a boat, motor & prop repair shop.

I’ll bet elephants are around humans a lot more, skewing the results against them.

One interesting fact regarding elephants is related to the fact that about 1/3 of those deaths happened on the Island of Sri Lanka where expanding populations put humans in conflict with elephants much more often.

They kill more people than any other mammal. Mosquitoes, snakes and crocodiles kill way more.

I'm more saddened by all your upvotes. You have a super computer in your pocket.

While you are correct that they aren’t the most dangerous animal in the world they are extremely dangerous and territorial as anyone who has been on safari in Africa knows and would be a terrible thing to add to the bayous of S LA or the gulf coast.

We used to swim in the Spillway. He gators keep their distance. You can even grab the little ones.
I had a pet gator until my parents made me get rid of it after it got bigger.
If you feed them they are pretty docile. I still would tape its mouth when i brought it places.
It only got to 4 feet so it was very young.

Gators start getting territorial and ornery when they get around 6’ long. Before that, they’re basically just big scaley lazy dogs.

“Snakes carry venom that kill people, they technically aren’t the ones doing the killing”

That’s how you sound.
It’s not splitting hairs. It’s mosquitoes, and it’s not even close.
