Writers today wouldn’t know what to do with the storyline. It would turn into a movie about gay teenagers on an island doing gay teenager things and they get saved by women who escaped from their abusive husbands.

Kidding. In all seriousness I agree with you 10,000%. I must admit I am a huge sucker when trailers say “based on a true story” and when the movie shows actual pics of the real characters during the credits. I try to not get caught up trying to determine the level of truth vs Hollywood truth during the movie itself.
