We discussed it here a month ago or so. Three more kids ( I can vouch for two of them personally) just made perfect scores bringing it ( as I recall) 16 total. And last year a graduate became a Rhodes scholar. BRMHS is represented at MIT, the Ivy League, the service academies etc. It’s a great school. I think they have expanded enrollment though in the last five years, so their “ bottom” is lower .

A) I agree with your assessment of BRHS. Overall very similar to 15 years ago.
B) The thread starter is such a troll. Of course the top 5 schools are non-open enrollment schools in the most populated places in the state.
You’ve got the school for smart kids on the Westbank, the school for smart kids in Metairie, the school for smart kids throughout New Orleans, the school for smart kids in Baton Rouge, and the school for a combination of smart and lucky kids with involved parents in New Orleans.
After that is the school for smart kids in Shreveport and then some Northshore open enrollment schools.
I agree with the rankings but they are as predictable as hell.

It's a joke that schools like Zachary are above a lot of private schools in Baton Rouge. My wife is a Zachary grad and I know several more because of that, these kids are no where near prepared as private school kids.
Oh, and my wife worked at Zachary for 2 years as well after receiving her Masters. They manipulate the system with testing, these kids aren't prepared for college like they try to sell you on.
ETA: Nevermind I guess I am an idiot because it clearly says Public schools. I just wouldn't consider schools like U High public.

If your student body is mostly kids of LSU employees, you have to pay tuition , and they have a waiting list- it’s NOT a public school in the traditional sense. UHigh is a “ who do you know” school. With what they have to work with, they should be doing a LOT better .

Yeah, I wonder why three schools that based on their names are very clearly affiliated with religion aren't included in a list of public schools.

Who knew that being able to select and reject students and being able to dismiss them leads to a more productive school environment? I for one am shocked!

So Zachary does good on testing - the thing where students show what they know - and that means Zachary doesn't prepare kids as well as Central Private or Dunham for college?
Do you introduce your wife as "hey, this is my wife Ms. Rabbs and QStick, just another Zachary idiot"?
Show us on the doll where Zachary touched you.
