There is a difference in a great school and a school with great students.
If a school is legitimately great, adding some not-so-great students that bring down the overall numbers (as long as they are not disruptive or detrimental) does not diminish the school itself.
That's why these rankings are not really accurate.

The top five are four magnets and a select charter. Those are good schools but really shouldn't be compared to run-of-the-mill public schools.
