Its human nature to become scared and narrow minded as one gets older, especially when you're life is as good as any human being has ever experienced. Thats how we get here....we have it made compared to just one generation of Americans ago...let alone 3...we have access to completely safe drinking water almost every day of our lives, something still uncommon for 25% of people on the planet, yet we insist on filtering that water through filters that are not maintained properly and usually drink it out of a bottle made, in part, from petrochemicals. We know intuitively that the ease and security and freedom we enjoy in 2024 is not normal in the experience of mankind and are scared to fricking death its about to come crashing down around our ears....so we look for shite to be afraid of, shite that is in no way threatening and 99.9% of us will never actually encounter. Instead of being grateful for what we enjoy we worry about it disappearing. Its human nature, we live to be miserable and misery loves company.....
