The OT is not what it used to be (rant thread)

When did the OT become thin skinned? It makes me sad to see the "abandon all faith, ye who enter here" motto pretty much become ancient history.
The past year or so (interestingly enough coinciding right around the SJW-movement) things have been different here. I get that the site has become more popular and profitable but there have been things anchored/whacked that have been questionable to say the least. Has there been new rules added to the FAQ? I can't seem to find any.
Does this post even get to exist?

Why is it off limits to discuss obvious rule changes that actually effect new threads/posts? I think it's better to actually clear things up then axe this thread.

I just think making jokes (poor taste) about dead people should be fair game. I find it hypocritical that you can make jokes about said people "after enough time has passed" i.e. all hitler/holocaust jokes, even "darwin award" jokes are okay.
But hit a nerve with someone specific and its not okay

Nah. People do read this site. It has popped up in the news on a few occasions. Thread titles that mentioned that someone should die is not something that the site owner wants to be out there.

funny you said 2011. The only ban I've ever had on this site was back in 2011 when I made a joke about the ARK TE that died (not even about him, but the ARK team after the LSU game).
Yet you can literally make fun of someone who died as long as it was a "funny way to go out" and claim "darwin" and somehow get by unscathed.
