That article has no references and quite frankly, is filled with utter bullshite. It's a sales ad, not a medical piece.

But you are free to go read the actual studies if you wish.

I know that right now I’m walking around 15 pounds overweight and am shredded compared to these fatties in Gulf Shores. It’s ridiculous baw. Literally 80% + obese and most of the children too.

I always think the obesity/overweight percentages are low. Walk in any Wal-Mart in MS and 2/3rds of the adults are overweight, if not obese.

You chose to gain weight during the lockdown 2 yrs ago rather than get healthier?

I was just the opposite. I shed 18 pounds to get to a healthy BMI/weight and I made myself get back to cardio exercise 5 days a week. The end result is that I was able to come off two meds that I absolutely hated taking, blood pressure & cholesterol pills.

How? Running outside and doing push-ups in your house wasn’t locked down

We don’t. Only fat people do and they can say million times that being fat is pretty but everyone knows it’s not. Fat is ugly. Thin is pretty.
Why aren’t the A-list actresses in Hollywood fat? Because it’s not pretty.

There's hundreds of fat dudes on this site claiming they're not fat.

Gives fatasses an excuse to keep being lazy and not get off their arse and lose weight.

Good for you man. Hey, you see the issue and at least admit it.

No society should ever glorify obesity. It's not even about looks so much, as it is a major health issue. What if one's son or daughter weighed 300 pounds? How would you feel? Someone close to me was very obese, and this person recently lost a lot of weight... makes me feel relieved. Still overweight, but making major efforts to lose it.

I’m not defending anyone being overweight but men and women lose weight at different rates and places. I know y’all like to fat shame women, but maybe realize most gain 30 pounds per pregnancy and losing it takes hard work and discipline.

Post pregnancy weight gain is not what is being discussed in this thread and you know it.

Prob one of my larger issues with the pandemic. The very same obese people worried if I'm wearing my mask for their protection like they are suddenly worried about their health. We knew 75% of deaths were connected to the morbidly obese but said nothing. We would have been better telling everyone's fat arse to get outside and exercise instead of masking up.

I had got chunky over the few years after my daughter was born, wasn't really exercising anymore and was drinking/eating like it was my job. I was still relatively fit but definitely noticed the extra weight in pictures. About 3 months ago my wife checked me, said it was the first time since we met that I had love handles. Since then I've started running 1-2 miles about 3-4 days a week. I've lost over 15 lbs, no love handles and ab definition for the first time in a decade. I changed literally nothing else, still drinking/eating at the same clip. People just need to get active.

I think it’s a cruel trick Mother Nature has played on us.For thousands of years food was relatively scarce for parts of a year and required effort to obtain enough food.We are inherently programmed to crave salt, fat and sugar so during times of plenty people ate a lot to get through times of famine.
With modern agriculture and factory farming there are no periods of food shortages but we still have the innate cravings for salt, fat and sugar. The food industry has taken maximum advantage of this to sell their products.

Then factor in the huge proliferation of processed foods and fast foods. Before the 60’s meal preparation took a fair amount of time and effort..Lots of people, probably a majority, don’t take the time to prepare a meal from “scratch” anymore. We eat a lot of vegetables but we don’t go through the effort of growing but a few things such as tomatoes, rather we buy a lot already frozen.

Ther is also the social aspect of friends and family getting together over a meal.Overeating is easy in this scenario and there is always the obligatory desserts to end the meal.

I don’t see obesity going away unless scientists develop a miracle pill that blocks the reward center in the brain activated by food.

i wouldnt call it a fad. just a very vocal minority with too many communication tools. most men think these whales are grotesque. those that dont are likely fat fricks themselves.

Because the globalists want people dead and it’s profitable for them

The obesity epidemic

Is directly caused by the introduction of sugar, seed oils, and high fructose corn syrup into just about everything in the American Diet. Eliminate these things and you will lose a lot of weight even without exercise.
