Add washers and dryers to the already long list of Biden frickups.

Yeah, crap like this is why you are lucky to get 10 years out of most appliances these days.
Twice as expensive and last half as long. Progress

Next thing you know we will go back to the old washboard.

It just means they can’t enforce their ruling on people as if they are laws. They can still enforce manufacturing regulation

I tried my queen size quilt in a neighbors speed queen. It made their machine stop twice. I didn’t buy a speed queen.
They may be great but I’ve got to be able to wash bedding without issues.

The “energy efficiency” craze has resulted in almost all appliances and vehicles becoming more expensive and less reliable. We need to fire all of these bureaucrats.

I bought a ge to replace my ge that died after 10 years (paid like $500 new so I feel that I got my moneys worth). The new one was on sale for $550. If I get 10 years it’s a win.
Anyway, there is a quick wash cycle .. it washes in no time and it’s almost dry when the cycle is done.
I’m happy with this set.

Do you have data to backup that assertion?

Did you buy a certain model?
We went with the one in the middle. It just has 3 knobs. Truly a very expensive old school washing machine that...gasp...actually washes the clothes. Top loading, full agitator, no stupid "lid lock". It's amazing!! *I do not work for Speed Queen lol*

I doubt that the gubment considered the obvious way to save money drying clothes: A clothes line.
In NOLA, I did a dry off- I washed two identical top sheets. Hung one on the clothesline in the back yard, put the other in the dryer. The clothes line dried in 15 minures, 20 for the dryer. For towels the clothes line was a lot faster.
For rainy days: the dryer, or wait for a sunny day to do the wash. Or use a clothes line in the basement (for those so blessed.)

We do A LOT of laundry with the family + our small business. Bought a speed queen 5ish years ago and it’s incredible. I forget if the warranty is 10 or 15 years but I wouldn’t be surprised if it last 20+ years.

Your neighbor may just have a lemon. We have 3 queen beds and a king over here, and I have zero issues washing any of the bedding. It all gets washed frequently.
You know what does have a problem? My "HE" dryer. Takes the better part of a day to dry a dang comforter. Can't wait for it to kick so I can get a Speed Queen!

How much did that set cost you?

Thanks
Have the washer. Need to go ahead and get the dryer.

I think they were around $1100-1200 each a few years ago.
They are definitely more pricey but my wife loves them. I wash some clothes but she does a lot more than me.

repairmen cant eat when its more cost effective to buy a new machine instead of a $750 ecm motor. Appliance manufactures finna eat.
That’s how I feel about complex cars. Sure they may be more efficient but if they break sooner and you have to manufacture a new one more frequently, then is that good for the environment.

My washing machine already doesn’t use enough water.

I'm not sure what that means relative to the models. I'll look for 3 knobs.
