Yea stop worrying about shot you can’t control and don’t let it effect you. I know it sounds like I’m being sarcastic, but I’m not. Turn off the politics and just enjoy things you like to do and be around people that make you happy and try to stay out of conversations on things that don’t make you happy

That’s the problem, you don’t know what you value, or you value the wrong things. Let me guess, you don’t have any friends either?

I think part of it is, and this is really sad, half the people, in this country, hate me and I hate them. Straight up.
Just being honest.

Have you tried recognizing that there is no possible way that half the people know you, much less hate you, and that you don't have to preemptively hate them?

(I was hoping the definition of ‘Me’ was obvious) Divided Country. Tired of paying for the lazy.

Unplugging from media and social media would seem to be a solution, but it wasn’t for me. I tried it for a little while, nothing improved. I know that this is common with aging, but not to this degree. Anyone know of a way to cope with all of this without going completely off the grid?

Yeah, it’s called Tigerrdroppings. Stay off everything else. If it’s not something personal or you don’t see it here, it ain’t worth worrying about.

And I was hoping that you and all the other "me's" out there would collectively stop hating people you don't know and be a little less divided.

Exactly. Not to mention who cares if someone doesn't like you? All anyone can do is be who they are if someone doesn't like you for that then I sure as hell am not going to waste time worrying about it.

What's coming? As I mentioned before, it seems like since I can remember people have been saying "the worst is coming".

You sound like you listen to some talking head all the time whose job is to scare you. The more people who live in fear the more people will go out and vote, its the same ole bullshite. It could be a lot worse.

I find that the absolute worst thing you can do is watch or listen to political punditry of any kind. I was getting the same way as you, so I had to completely quit following politics and I am a lot happier now.

I have since realized that politics really doesn’t affect my life one bit. Since we can only seem to elect self serving morons, every one of them fricks this country up royally. The sad fact is, when somebody screws things up, the next guy just overturns those policies and puts some different ones in place. As a result, policies and laws don’t typically last more than a couple of years….so why should I get all stressed over that shite?

This is frequently trotted out. However, what is the average person to do get gas down 50% to where it was? What about getting the grocery bill down 40% to where it was three years ago? What about worrying about where Russia is going to nuke next?

The problem is that all of this is self-inflicted, and nobody that works in a Walmart or in Baton Rouge, or most people in Houston, asked or wanted any of this. But we are all f*cked.

Our 401ks have largely collapsed, our 529s have collapsed, but now we're making 2.5% on our savings accounts, amirite?

Many presidents have done dumb crap. Few have done the amount of dumb crap we've seen in 2 years to actually cripple American families (family is the key word to avoid criticism) than we have currently experienced.

This is why White Bear and I are frustrated.

But, like literary heroes of yore, I will just keep f*$king working. I'll work harder, travel more, etc., and we'll make it fine (I think at least, cause I'm not a quitter). What about the people that make half what I do? It's OK, we're "transitioning" (off of carbon, off of gender standards, blah blah.)

Don't be a pu55y by just downvoting me you drunk(er) folks, please retort, so we can have a debate of sorts. I know this is TD.

Don't just downvote, tell us what you disagree with in my screed. Gas? Groceries? You hate White Bear? Hate my 2.5% interest rate? Hate that I'll just work until I die? Tell us. I don't like that my 529s are down 40% either, maybe that's what you're about!

Don't be lazy, engage.
