After the election, I turned the tv off. I unfollowed everyone on social media that has to do with politics. I refuse to spend the next four years pissed off at the world. I don’t talk about it anymore. I’m happy now.

I go to concerts. Watch football. Stay active outside. Life is better now. No reason to get heated over every injustice. Live your life and let the scumbags in DC do their bullshite. They don’t care about us anyways. Just a bunch of fear mongers.

Onion's been peeled and all the facades are down. Now you see what a lot of people have seen for awhile. The best thing to do is build community with your neighbors since that is what America really is, not the government, not the corporations, and not all the special interest and activist groups.

That's what you get for being a regularly decent person

You wouldn't be sweating anything right now if you were a piece of shite criminal lowlife

The golden age of scum is in its early years

The Democrats have finally done it

Just go rob some people and shoot up some malls. Release your tension. Don't even need to bring money, no cash bail baby.

The way things are going in our country and society just keeps me angry most of the time. I’ve become cynical, jaded, and downright resentful, and I don’t like it. Unplugging from media and social media would seem to be a solution, but it wasn’t for me. I tried it for a little while, nothing improved. I know that this is common with aging, but not to this degree. Anyone know of a way to cope with all of this without going completely off the grid?

I feel the same. I am red-level furious with our elected officials and the “elites” whose responsibility it was to further the best interests our nation and its peoples, but instead fricked us beyond over-and-out.

And there is nothing that can now happen that will prevent what is coming.

AND I know that I am powerless to do anything to stop it.

AND while I have prepared as best I could the last two years, I’m still afraid it won’t be enough to help shield my family.

I have definitely turned much more inward, but it doesn’t change *knowing* and knowing that my children and America’s Children’s futures have been sold out.

Care to expand on that?

You think I’m childish because my values and the things I care about are steadily being eroded away?

I've felt this way since I was 10 back in the early 90s.

About time you all caught on. People suck sweaty hippo cock.

Sounds like you need some time outdoors. Get away for a short backpacking trip. Go volunteer for post hurricane work. Do you read? I am heading out tonight or first thing in the morning to a back country cabin. Nights are getting longer here, so in addition to grouse hunting, I am looking forward to just sitting by the wood stove with a book and a guitar (even though I can't play worth a darn).

Yes, but you have absolutely zero control over any of those issues. Fretting over things you can't control or even influence will lead to bitterness and resentment.

Tuning out is hard as hell in 2022, but it can be done, and those that pull it off are far happier. You will just never hear about it because, well, you are one of the things they've tuned out.
