Who gives a shite? Does the Falaise Pocket in '44 offend your sensibilities? You keep killing the enemy until either your military and political goals are achieved or the other side throws in the towel. You don't stop because you get squeamish.

How long until the base is in Taliban hands?
Trillions of dollars wasted and many lives lost, and for what exactly?

Let me guess you believe that Al-Qaeda attacked because “they hate us because of our freedom”?

1) Say what your mean. Be direct.
I didn’t like that we killed the retreating Iraqis Army forces.
2) Thats war. We kill people.
3) And, and this goes all the way back to antiquity, armies suffer their heaviest casualties when they retreat. It’s when they’re the most vulnerable. If you let them off the hook, they will pause, regroup, refit, and fight you again another day. Lengthening the war, and increasing the overall cost in human lives.
If you actually want to win, if you’re doing your job, you destroy them then and there, with overwhelming force.

Yes but opium production decreased 10x after Taliban gained control from 1980s - 2001
Then increased 30 fold after the US took over
The Talibán banned poppies in the late nineties, after they took over. They said it was forbidden under Islam, but I believe it was about control, and cutting off the cash flow to potential rivals.
The warlords used opium money to fund their forces.

The Daily Beast that Kabul authorities are growing more intensively engaged with China on an extension of the $62 billion China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC)—the flagship project of BRI, which involves the construction of highways, railways and energy pipelines between Pakistan and China—to Afghanistan.
This is interesting.
It assumes that the Taliban will be able to impose peace on Afganistán.
And that Pakistan can control the Taliban.
I’m doubtful.

The inhabitants of the Kunar Province will be slaughtered by the Taliban who were deemed to be working with U.S. Forces.
In 2009 my unit was responsible for conducting route clearance and dismounted combat operations around the Pakistani border. The Afghan and Pakistani border will be a gateway for jihadists to enter the country freely. The people who helped us gain valuable intel will be brutally killed.
Making it out alive from FOB Wright in the Kunar Province to Bagram was a feeling I’ll never forget. Spent many of hours there on my way home.

how long until the translators and people that helped Americans get killed for it? I wonder if they'll grant them citizenship or asylum or if that is only for people in the western hemisphere.
Left Behind
There is legislation in the works, but I doubt it will come in time for many, as they and their family will hunted down and brutally executed.
This is so dishonorable it makes me want to vomit. Our government has no honor if they leave these people to die.

Joe didn't do shite, that is delusional. This shite has been in the works a year thanks to Donald. Biden was a key part of the red line and ruining of Egypt, Syria, Tunisia, and Libya. He was in this Afghan game. He didn't close Guantanamo. He is a piece of shite.

Joe isn’t bringing an end to anything but the movement in his diaper.

I’m concerned about the embassy. And the risk of getting trapped there.

Now we can focus on carpet bombing China hopefully.

The main reason it failed is the leadership did not prioritize inclusivity. Now that we are focused on pregnancy flight suits and more trans warriors we should see better results in the future
