Afghanistan is supposed to have trillions in precious mineral deposits.
If this is true why didn’t the Russians or the U.S capitalize on this in the last 40 years?

In a third world country with lots of cheap labor.
What did they do? Fly in all the concrete?
*I'm sure a good chunk of that money ended up in DC pockets.

Saigon fell because Congress cut funding.
I wonder if our client state will last as long as the Soviet one did. My guess is no.

American aid to the Afghan rebels destabilized the region, and damaged the tribal structure that was responsible for basic governance, creating a long term problem
In hindsight. I don’t know if we did the right thing.

Dude, it's fricking Afghanistan. I don't think turning their big rocks into smaller rocks would've made much of a difference.

Taliban will take back control within a few months. All that we have worked to build will be destroyed. Billions of dollars and countless American lives lost all for naught.

Bloomberg
Because the locals aren’t what you’d call hospitable. China has been capitalizing on the security provided by American troops to exploit their minerals and build their “Silk Road” project. When we shut down FOB Salerno (iirc) the taliban Merc’d the Chinese construction crews who had previously been safe thanks to us.
Hopefully it bogs down China for a few decades.

You're either a poor troll, or pretty stupid to believe this disingenuous crap.
Bin Laden was expelled from Saudi Arabia years before and had his citizenship revoked. Afghanistan welcomed him with open arms when he was subsequently expelled from Sudan.
Afghanistan harbored him and his terrorist group for years while they planned and executed the 9/11 attack, and then for years afterwards until he was forced into Pakistan. They hosted him while his recruiters brought in recruits from all over the world so he could vet them. The Taliban in Afghanistan was just as culpable as Bin Laden himself.
The invasion was well deserved. What happened since was a shitshow.

No shite. I never said it wasn't. They were harboring a terrorist.

Again, the Taliban deserved everything they got and more. As it applies to 9/11, I would think that the lead terrorist may have been a little bit more culpable than the shite country hosting him.

Stupid to believe that there weren't 15 Saudi's on the 4 planes? I will try to do a better job at trolling next time and not use so many facts.

Who cares? Screw the rest of the world. We need to start worrying about our own country.

We should just nuke Afghanistan out of existence after the next time the terrorist use it as a base to attack us.

WHO CARES!
We should not be the world police. We can cut the Military budget in HALF and strengthen National defense by focusing on defending the USA and not the world.
