The Kenner garbage wars

Kenner had a shitty garbage provider.
After tons of complaints a new company bid for the non exclusive contract.
So Rammelli out, IV in.
Not so fast. RAMMELLI goes to court and puts a restraining order on their cans. So now Kenner residents without the IV can cannot have their trash picked up.
All this back and forth. I've never seen so much drama over trash.

Torres knows how to fight in the court of public opinion. I get people don't like him because he comes off as a bit try hard, but the guy hustles and is damn good at business.

His employees are like the Chick fil A employees of garbage men.
The cans are put back perfect on the curb, not a drop of trash left and they were pulling cardboard and putting it with the recycling.

IV has emptied both of my cans the last couple pickups. I’ve noticed they are better. They come way earlier and they don’t leave shite dragging all over the road.

So why hasn't IV provided new cans to those who need them?

They are. Covid slowed them down. They have 3,000 more to pass out.
On the other hand my "Rammelli" can is really a Waste Management can from 1997. To get Rammelli to replace a can takes an act of legislation.

My boy SDT made his triumphant return to the St Bernard trash game on March 1 and the difference between his group and Pelican (prior company) is night and day.

I refuse to believe this.

Of all the threads on the O-T this one doesn't have "Trashy" in the title.
Thank you.
Thank you.

I was out at West End Park one day in Nola and a Rammelli employee who really couldn't speak English came over to me on a mower asking if I knew where he could fill up a water bottle. Fcking pathetic that it was 96 degrees out and they didn't have water coolers or ice chest our there for their guys.

We have Rammelli in Harahan and they’re terrible.
Sporadic pass times, crap in the street afterwards and my cab gets out in random spots like the middle of my driveway.

Torres’ FB post...
Late Wednesday afternoon, Ramelli Waste owner Bob Ramelli asked a New Orleans Judge for a court hearing regarding the use of his trash cans as a way to impede and slow the work of my company. He wants to prohibit you from using his can, and my company from emptying garbage in a Ramelli can. He has been asked by the city to remove all of his equipment but refuses.
Bob Ramelli’s childish legal action was his third attempt to restrain IV Waste from conducting its business in Kenner and providing Kenner businesses and residents with the stellar, professional service we are known for as a waste management company. Twice before yesterday’s court request, Bob Ramelli was rejected by a Jefferson Parish Judge who heard both sides of the argument. That sent Ramelli Judge shopping in New Orleans where he was granted a hearing without me or anyone from my company being notified. The hearing is scheduled ten days out from the judge’s signature.
Here’s what that means to Kenner. By court order in Orleans Parish, my company is not allowed to pick up trash placed in a Ramelli can until the hearing ... ten days away! Bob Ramelli’s vengeful action only hurts the people who have been paying for his service for years. It is appalling that an Orleans Parish Judge would slow the process of picking up waste especially during a viral pandemic. But it is more outlandish that a corporate leader would act is such a juvenile manner to hurt the city of Kenner and its people.
Until the hearing is conducted, if you place waste in a Ramelli can, you must call Ramelli Waste to pick it up. Sadly, that’s the order of Orleans Parish court. I will ensure that my company picks up every bit of bulk waste, garbage in bags or in our IV Waste can, but until a hearing we are not allowed to touch a Ramelli can. As crazy snd unacceptable as that sounds, it’s the work of a corporate sore-loser, his legal stunts and a judge in New Orleans who has nothing to lose in Kenner.
I apologize for this rocky beginning. Until Bob Ramelli stops his tantrums and petty punishment to the taxpayers of Kenner who tolerated his irregular service for years, we will have to work through this together. Please do not use a Ramelli can for your waste. Put it in anything else, and I will ensure that it is picked up.
I am disappointed and sorry for your inconvenience. It is not how I conduct business. But this will be cleared up in short order, and I will guarantee you professional, courteous and considerate service throughout our relationship.
Thank you.

I’ve said it before on here but Ramelli is possibly one of the shadiest, most well connected businessmen in LA and is right up there with Lee Mallet from Iowa. I’ve heard that once he figures out someone is onto him, that’s when the corporate shell games begin and his bookkeeper and attorney take over. The only reason I can fathom that he has avoided prosecution for so many years is that he has tremendous political ties or he must be an informant of some sort.
