Bruh. Dodging cans in the street after trash day is now a thing of the past in Kenner. They place all the cans back on the curb turned sideways to the street. If they drop something they pick it up. The workers seem happy and up beat. I offered them water but they had ice Gatorade.
They also have uniforms with reflective clothing and gloves. Where Rammelli employees wore their regular clothes, usually with the asses out.

Some of those companies are scum. At least for commercial. They can jack up your prices without warning and it's perfectly legal.

I would play even harder as a councilman and ask LA DOTD to inspect some garbage trucks.
Write some tickets and hunt those trucks down. It is not hard to find deficiencies on a garbage truck.
Then pass a City Council law that allows non I V waste or city approved cans to be considered garbage. Once considered garbage the city or any citizen can pickup that garbage up on city property to dispose.
To stop this they should have put in the contract after X amount of years the cans belong to the City and require City logos is the bid on the cans. EBRP had that in their contract, so the cans per the contract are now owned by EBRP as that time period passed where BFI owned them.

This makes no sense. Was Kenner leasing the Garbage cans?
If they are his property, shouldn’t Rammelli have picked up his property when his contract was ended?
I live in Lafourche, last year we had Progressive Waste, their contract ended and River Birch took over. We still have and use the Progressive can. My only complaint with River Birch is that they are sticklers for their cans since they use automated trucks, in which you purchase extra cans from them. .
So if Lafourche ends the River Birch contract will they give me my money back on the extra can I purchased if they pull the same crap.
Lafourche pays for its garbage service via sales tax. No extra fees tacked on your water bill like in some areas Where if you want 2 cans you are actually billed for it.

Kenner should have stipulated that any contract contests must be heard in a Jefferson Parish Court.

The cans are put back perfect on the curb, not a drop of trash left and they were pulling cardboard and putting it with the recycling.
The FQ was as clean as can be expected and smelled decent when he had that contract.

Thats the thing. His contract didn't end. It's a non exclusive contract. The mayor bid a second contract and just told Rammelli to stop picking up trash but they are under contract still to 2025. There contract isn't broken. BUT the mayor has called their cans a public nusiance. Which they are, many are actually the cans we got in the 90's. Yes Rammelli took the money they were paid to buy new cans and bought the old cans used from Waste management. (You do generally lease your cans from provider) The excuse was there was a material shortage after Katrina. yet all the neighboring areas got new cans.
Yes, IV hasn't gotten new cans to everyone yet, but it's still a huge step up.
