The UK gestapo probably puts him in jail for vandalism without a license

I guess thats where north banksy got his name. A play on the artist and the north bank of the stadium.
And he does these black and white paintings.

There's the actual "investigative" article linked inside your post that is the article supposedy exposing him.
It's a long but very interesting read.
Part of the reason a lot of other graffiti artist don't like him is 1) He is more famous/jealousy and 2) most feel he is above the law. The UK does virtually nothing to try and catch him. One painting of his was a judge beating up a protestor that he painted on a courthouse. All they did was power wash it and the silhouette is still there. It's basically a tourist attraction now.
Add to the fact that he is one of the more beloved UK artist in history now and he does very few "vandalism" paintings, he's not much of a guy that the law is trying to bring in. He normally paints on low income building that actually create value to the building or a small shop that now gains more traffic because of it. Most people consider it doing them a favor.
But as far as financials go and him not making money like you mentioned, here was one tidbit from the article that was in addition to his other business ventures...

The enigmatic street artist Banksy has built a multimillion-dollar business empire as opaque as his identity, operating through a network of British companies while largely staying outside the traditional art market, according to corporate filings and interviews with art market insiders.
The sale of Banksy pieces has generated an estimated $248.8 million in secondary market sales since 2015, according to data from art market research firm ArtTactic. The secondary market refers to the resale of artwork after its initial sale.
The artist himself receives only a small fraction from those sales, paid under a provision in UK law that entitles artists to royalties. But sources say Banksy now conducts private sales for VIP collectors that may generate millions of dollars directly, Reuters learned.
Reuters identified seven companies that have been directly connected to Banksy over the years, and at least two additional firms that were connected to the artist by name or via his lawyers and accountants. The centerpiece is the Pest Control Office, incorporated in 2008. It serves as both the artist's authentication body and business operation. Its parent company is Picturesonwalls Limited, which once operated a London gallery.
The financial growth has been substantial. Pest Control’s first financial report, published in 2009, showed total assets of £243,019. By 2015, that grew to £2.7 million, including £1.1 million in cash. The latest report, for 2024, reveals total net assets of about £5.7 million – comprising £4.4 million in cash and £1.2 million in “stocks.” The filings aren’t clear about whether these are shares or unsold artworks. The reports are published on Companies House, Britain’s corporate registry.
Picturesonwalls Limited’s latest report shows total net assets of £2.5 million, including £1 million in cash, up dramatically from just £63,013 in its first reporting period ending June 2005.
He's got money. And has a lot more than what is recorded given the private sales like these...

Works offered included a print of a child sitting in a flowering tree that sold for £15,000, and a Madonna with Child painted on scrap metal with a rusty bullet hole that fetched £500,000. Buyers signed three-year non-resale agreements and nondisclosure agreements, the source told Reuters.

What!? He basically turned his art sales into a very profitable shadow business??
No way that can be true. iwyLSUiwy told me so.

I mean you were the one saying I bet he wished he cashed in on his art sales. I was just showing that he did.

Do you want me to show the massive amounts that he gave to charity? I never said he didn't have money, I said it wasn't about the money and that "I bet he wished he made money off his paintings" is a retarded statement given that he could make endless amounts of money if he wanted to.
If you have the ability to make millions upon millions of dollars all the time and choose not to do so and give large portions of what you have made to charity, it's not about the money.

I’ve never been enamored with finding out who he iis at this point but I’ve enjoyed his work for years. I don’t need to know the face behind Simple unique art…. The oddity in itself adds to the value.
And I wish they’d never revealed his identity.
Some things are better left alone.

Not gonna lie. I was aware of Banksy but dont know if i had ever actually seen any of his work. Pretty cool stuff honestly.

I thought he was outed a few years ago, like pre covid, and turns out he was doing the work in daylight but folks just were not paying attention at the time.

Not really. It was never confirmed and reading the entire investigative article it doesn't really confirm it like they are trying to sell it. Certainly a lot of coincidences and some good evidence, but I certainly wouldn't say concrete. I mean the photo in the OP is from a report a decade ago and they are passing it off like they just uncovered it.

Probably thinking of when he set up a art booth on the street one day selling painting for like $50. I think only two people bought a painting (one of them negotiating him down on the price

Staying anonymous in Britain, for very long, might be quite a fete.
I can imagine that all the street cameras in most cities could identify him, light him up, and have the po-po cuffing him up for defacing property.

What He easily could have, he chose not to. It's very obvious it was not about the money for him. Like him or not, it'd be pretty dumb to think that he's wishing he cashed in on his art.
