That's cool. NOLA is flush with cash so they can afford it.

No troll. Can someone please explain to me why the fire department is on scene 24/7? If the building were to collapse further there is a fire station less than a half of a mile away on Cleveland. The fire truck could be there in minutes. Seems like a waste of money.

Because the city will sue them and give well connected scumbag lawyers a chance to collect a large sum that gets distributed back to the pols

They’re cranking up all those aforementioned methods of recovery as we speak.

When I lived in Midcity I got to see them working on “city financing” up close.

For the few days leading up to Endymion, they let everybody flood into Midcity and park anywhere, with no guidance. As soon as the parade started and everybody’s attention was on that, they rolled a dozen tow trucks and two vanloads of meter maids up Dumaine to Carrollton and dispersed in all directions to work their magic.

So, in other words, two meter maids total?

Yeah. I lived Uptown two blocks off of Napoleon. People would park on the sidewalk, in front of fire hydrants, and block driveways and nothing happened. Except for Mardi Gras. The meter maids were everywhere during those two weeks.

How much did it cost the city to take down the statues?

If they would have hired these contractors, they would have been taken down on their own.

Our Hard Rock shut its door last night. Sad day. Some damn fine memories in that place the past 15 years.

If the tourism industry ever craters that city is going to look like Mogadishu.

They are probably inflating the costs as they are going to go after the insurance for reimbursement when this is over.

mean, I have to think Hard Rock or the contractors will be forced to reimburse the city

And this is the angle that scum administration is taking. Drag this shite out and sue the shite out of Hard Rock so they can line their pockets.
