They very likely were sexually abused.
They also murdered both of their parents in premeditated fashion brutally.
They were both over 18, they could have simply just went on their way and never spoke to their parents again.
But they wanted the money and their parents to be dead for abusing them

A cousin witnessed it when they were much younger, and one of them confessed to a friend long before the murders, that is about it as far as I know

As long as the advocacy is leftwing coded from a victim hood perspective then anything is permissible.

What we do know, for sure, is that Lyle was recorded over numerous phone calls to some chick that he put on a show in the first trial. And admitted to lying. Which is why he couldn't testify in the 2nd trial.
So we factually know Lyle was lying during his testimony and putting on a show for the jury. That's document in recordings and a subsequent book.

The alleged abuse was brought up in their defense. The jury had it to consider. They were convicted. Even if the abuse allegations are true, it doesn't make their crime less severe.
Not to mention the fact that they are mere allegations and the parents were not charged or convicted of any abuse. Conveniently for the menendez brothers., the parents are no longer here to answer the charge.
Justice would have had them executed years ago.

The issue to me isn't whether they killed their father for sexual abuse. However, the spending spree afterwards shows what the motivation was.
The fact that they murdered their mother in cold blood who hadn't molested them deserves death penalty or life in prison regardless of what the father did.
I watched the documentary and the only thing I took out of it was they all four were essentially horrible people.

It was brought up in their first separate trials which were mistrials or hung juries as I recall.
It was not allowed to be brought up in their joint trial and they were convicted.
