Yeah, that was stupid.

I am not taking anything away from David Phung, he is a hero in my book.
But does anyone else suspect that this chick had a death wish and was possibly trying to kill herself? The water is 7 feet high and she enters it in a Mazda Miata? Also, when Phung breaks the window/roof, she didn't exactly look like she was trying too hard to get out.

That's actually pretty common for people being rescued in water. That's why it's dangerous for someone who isn't trained in water rescue to try and save someone. The instinct is to grab anything above water and steady yourself. She's lucky she's alive and it's a freaking miracle that her dog survived.

They said the height has leveled off for now, but will most likely raise quickly once the Amite crest affects it. Basically it will back up and not be able to drain.

the graphs may show it possibly cresting... but the water is still coming from upriver so don't let out that sigh of relief yet

People panic when they are drowning. She was desperate.

Central/DS is a straight mess right now. Never thought I'd see the day. Water up to the roofs on most places in central.

It's not a good day to be driving around if you don't need to be on the road.

Does anyone know where to find out if or where they'll need people with boats tomorrow?
