My husband keeps saying "it's done" and I'm like um, I'm on the OT you're not. Dude can drive me crazy sometimes.

Correct me if I am wrong
Because I right at Bluebonnet at Bayou Fountain
It drains into Bayou Manchac by I-10, which then goes to the Amite
I am sure there will be back flow but if you follow the Amite through Bayou Manchac all the way to Bayou Fountain around Bluebonnet and Seigan, will there really be that much to reach here?

Stay safe and keep your phone charged. Maybe start moving smaller valuables upstairs into or into the attic.

We've got steadily increasing water over the road in the neighborhood but it'd have to rain A LOT more to get to our house. It's been funny as hell watching people try to get through the road in front of our neighborhood. No one has stalled but I keep waiting to end up with new friends over for dinner.

I thought that area and to the west towards Sullivan would be the last to flood.

Glad you are okay.

Damn. So many friends there that I couldn't possibly even call them all. I hope they're okay.

The mobile home park my parents went to across Rambling Oaks seems to be okay for now.

Sharing one of our met's posts:

quote:

EARLY AFTERNOON UPDATE:

CATASTROPHIC FLOODING CONTINUES...

We have witnessed flooding of historical proportions. Some would even say biblical proportions. Over the past 48 hours we have been stressing the extremity of this event and it has happened. Many rivers are still rising. Water is already up to roof tops in Livingston Parish and parts of Baton Rouge and is many feet deep in parts of Tangipahoa Parish. Highways and roads are closed throughout all of south Louisiana from Lafayette to Covington. Interstates are completely shut down and submerged. Residents are trapped on roof tops and attics as rescue operations continue.

THIS IS A LIFE THREATENING EVENT

In many areas, conditions are still getting worse...

The Tangipahoa River east of Ponchatoula is already at record levels and continues to rise. Flooding here will be worse than what it was in March and residents will experience the worse flood ever in history. Independence, Tickfaw, Robert....all under water.

The Amite River in Denham Springs is already well above its record and continues to rise. These areas are already experiencing the worse flooding ever in history. Denham Springs, Albany, parts of Walker...most of Livingston Parish....all under water.

The Amite River at Port Vincent and Manchac Point continue to rise and will shatter their record levels. If you are in this area, you need to get out ASAP and get to high ground. This is a life threatening situation developing...get out now.

All memories of past flood events will be erased as this flood will be the new benchmark for the future. By the time all is said and done, it will be one for the record books. Our prayers go out to anyone and everyone in the affected areas. Please listen to your local authorities and emergency personnel. If they tell you to leave, LEAVE.

Weather wise, the parent area of low pressure is in north Louisiana, but is still pulling up deep gulf moisture. Most of the heavy rain will stay down the gulf, but passing showers will continue through the evening into tonight.
