Water is flowing pretty damn hard in reverse still based on this video with people saying the backflow is getting worse. This makes me wonder if the Alligator Bayou Road levee is compromised since Santa Maria levels are falling.
Im with you on this. Water in Santa Maria is falling because flow rate across Alligator Bayou road has increased significantly today. Water level is falling on Alligator Bayou Road headed up to Bluff because of this rate increase into swamp. But I could be totally wrong

So are y'all saying Santa Maria isn't in the clear just yet based off of flow rate and faulty Gage's? Not being a dick just worried about my grandparents who think they are safe now.

I spent about 17 hours on a boat yesterday, and about 10 hours today. Saw some things I never imagined I would see, some things I will never be able to forget. We were lucky enough to be able to help a lot of people in some bad situations.
Every time we got a chance to stop somewhere for a rest and found some wifi, there were a handful of websites we checked for info. This thread was one of them.
Thanks for the great info. What we got from the TV was usually old, and usually inaccurate. Radio was a little better, but not much. The live reports from guys on this thread were almost always solid.
We were able to use that info while we were out there, and it helped us help other people. We were also able to check on own homes, and pass info on to the other guys we ran into out there, too, about their neighborhoods.
Can't tell you how much that meant to us and the people we ran into. Literally cannot put it into words.
Thank you.

I don't think anyone is in the clear but the fact that it's relieving the water in there is a plus for them. Just going to be a negative for someone else

Santa Maria has likely peaked. I've been watching the interstate cam and it doesn't seem like the levels are raising and likely lowering there.

I have been wondering since Sunday, but were yall using VHF radios to coordinate everything?
Posted on 8/15/16 at 8:32 pm to slackster
A lot of folks got some 'splaining to do about all that. Pretty shitey effort. Totally embarrassing for whatever group has to answer for it.

Tommy - I am so glad that the info I was able to provide along with many of the other TD members here in this thread was of use to the people actually boating around out there. I know from being in a few disasters myself how important just having information can be when you are cut off from the world.

thank YOU for risking your life to save others. This is so sad and so incredible at the same time. It has almost brought me to tears several times. God bless you all.

Wow, really?!?! Used to live back there myself. In fact, moved away 3 months ago. Good grief.
