We are in the front of the neighborhood where the water would have to come up another 5' for us to be in danger. Should we get worried?
That is incredibly unlikely and I wouldn't worry at all. However I would drive around to where there is water and check back every half hour and report to the thread.

I went to my house by boat this afternoon off of Beco. I was there about an hour and it was a noticeable rise. I'm in Cessna now and it is rising here again

Bayou Paul Road per WAFB one of the homeowners is seeing a rise right now of 1 foot per hour.
Sounds like Spanish Lake Swamp is filling up.

It would be great if WAFB or WBRZ had an actual expert instead of these eyewitness reports who are incredibly unreliable. This report could be completely factual, but you're talking about actual lives at stake and this is the best you can do?

Does anyone know if I-55 is open from Hammond to I-20?

I drove on that road twice today and didn't see water. Once at 2 pm and again at 745.

Water is flowing pretty damn hard in reverse still based on this video with people saying the backflow is getting worse. This makes me wonder if the Alligator Bayou Road levee is compromised since Santa Maria levels are falling.
We have observed water at the banks of black bayou at Braud road flowing in the normal direction. It was falling last night and was almost normal. Could this be from alligator Bayou or Manchac. Look at the gauge for black bayou at 621 it peaks, falls, and is rising again today.

It's my mom's house, but it's on the E. Holly/Firethorn intersection and it has the street signs on the lot.

So Pecan Creek subdivision definitely has water in homes?

My brother drove down from Jackson to get his wife's uncle from somewhere in Hammond. He said 55 is bone dry all the way.

Possibly, but the gage for Bayou Black @ Gonzales is downstream, increasing, and is higher than the one @ 621. That would suggest "traditional" back flooding issues.
It is also worth noting that the gage @ Gonzales increased 1.25 feet from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM. That is incredibly significant.
