Hey, some of you earlier in the thread told me you'd like to treat me to some bourbon. I'd like to take you up on that offer when the waters recede

Your guide Saturday night indicating Bayou manchac at Jefferson hwy would backflow and flood led me to be awake at 3 am and get the frick out before shite really hit the fan.
I evacuated at around 1 foot in my house and when I checked last night it was at least 5 feet.
Thanks for the graphical pics. I would of possibly been stuck if you hadn't made me aware of backwater flooding imminent

I just got back from a trip to Walmart in Watson.
It didn't flood at all there and they had everything: Milk, bread, etc.
Stocked up to make it through the rest of the week because every other store that is open around me is nearly empty.
They just closed for the day and will be open again tomorrow morning.

Shots on me, supernova!
Did anybody see that video taken at that old cemetery at Sherwood Forest at Greenwell Springs? Next to the Rite Aid.
Before the water got so high that shawnlsu could touch the red light from his boat, they were filming the caskets popping up. Crazy.
Two damn kids that I don't think could swim, were poking around in the cemetery when the current picked up. They grabbed a casket handle and were hanging on for dear life, floating away.
That poor pharmacist was outside the Rite Aid looking lost at the rising water.
As the kids were going by, still hanging on to the casket, he was yelling, "What can I do to help!!!???"
The poor kid shouted back, "Hey Doc, you got anything to stop this coffin?"
Y'all make it a great rest of the week!

Reports that Dutchtown and Sorrento now need to be prepared to be under the gun
Don't spread dumbass info if you're not going to post a credible link or source. And then not come back to elaborate.

Exactly. All rumors right now about Dutchtown.

Posted on 8/15/16 at 6:18 pm to heatom2

Posted on 8/15/16 at 6:19 pm to chalupa
Thanks for the updates. Any current info on Joe Sevario? I hear it is closed on both ends. Just wondering got through on a boat and could report on it.

That seriously warms my heart. I wanted to be up there the whole time but because I have a kid who is turning 1, I couldn't justify risking myself, especially since my wife is working in New York for a couple months on contract. So I did the best thing I could, help out in any way I could on here. I'm extremely glad that help translated to actual results on the ground. I'm glad you got out and terribly sorry for your losses.

I was at Frenchtown Rd all morning. Water was still at about 5' on the N side of the road. We were bringing people back and forth in the boat
