Woah...are the houses in Westhaven flooded? Most are raised and all the pics I've seen show water below floor level. If they are driving high water vehicles in Westhaven, houses are probably going to flood

Those couple of houses that weren't raised are flooded. Those that are raised aren't flooded.

Just want to say thank you to every person that contributed to this thread, especially giving info about water and cresting. I had no phone or wifi most of the time. When it would come up, the only way I could get info was from this thread. I would pass it to neighbors. For some reason, radio would give very little info on anything that people were waiting to hear, or at least when I could listen. And most had no access to TV.

You people helped more people than you know. I found a lady that had slept in her car by Tiger Bend Road. Her house flooded, and she had no where to stay. As we talked, she started explaining back flow to me, and what we should expect from Claycut and Jones Creek. Without prompting, she told me she was getting her info off of Tigerdroppings. I laughed.

Got her to a shower and place to stay. You guys have no idea how much you helped people stay calm.

Just saw a convoy of high water vehicles, humvees, air boats and boats come from Starring to Burbank and then down Gardere towards Nicholson.

I don't know why they need boats down there. I think WAFB or whoever called for it was trolling. I just rode down Gardere from Burbank to Nicholson, and then on to Bluebonnet, and there's no water anywhere.

Bluebonnet is flooded on both sides by Albertsons. I decided not to drive over it.

The first lake at Fairhill is up a little bit over yesterday but still several feet from Bluebonnet. Water in the ditches along Walmart is also several feet from the road. Springlake/Fairhill remain dry as a bone.

Ask AT&T. It was their equipment housed in their box located around the corner from us.

it's hard to realize how bad it is until you get out in it. We are high and dry here in gonzales while just a few miles away we were in chest deep water. it's heartbreaking so see people carrying their whole lives out in garbage bags.

My house is the second to last one on the right (facing golf course) on Southern Hills in Charleston (moved away, still own it). Trying to keep tabs on it from afar.

Man it's probably really close. Looking at the elevations there, and the street is definitely flooded. Slab may be just high enough though.

Thanks for the update. I have the mindset that it will take on water (if it does not, great)

Took a round across Perkins, College, Burbank, Siegen and Bluebonnet. Some update.

Burbank/Siegen/Highland junction flooded both north and south at Highland. One side of Burbank (going North) almost under water.

New upcoming construction at east of Burbank: many parts under water.

Soccer fields: under more water than last evening

North of Albertson at Burbank: parking areas in apartment complex under water

Large green stretch of area between Burbank and Nicholson north of Staring under water.

Lee drive till Bankers avenue, almost all clear.

College Dr/Perkins till Siegen/Perkins all clear.

A house opposite YMCA Southside got extensive flooding. There stuff lying on the Perkins. YMCA staff told me that they helped those guys.

Southside farm produce was open for business in case some one needs grocery etc.

I think Nicholson at gardere is at risk. Westhaven is flooded but it isn't anything too serious. You are still able to walk out even at the highest parts.

However the water is not receding per a friend in Westhaven. In fact it's gone up about half an inch in the past 2 hours or so

My brother made them leave at midnight last night. I'm glad they did because water topped their sandbag levee around 8 or 9. Did you evacuate?

This will give you an idea of what Ward Creek at Mall of Louisiana has done since yesterday afternoon.

Yesterday:

Today:

It has only gone up maybe a foot or so at this spot. It was backflowing at a pretty slow pace yesterday but the backflow is visibly faster today.
