I suspect the wind is giving a bit of a surface ripple that can be interpreted as a northern flow direction.

I am in Fairhill. No water yet. Storm drains have held steady for past two hours. Will post up if anything changes.

Bridge is still blocked on BAbin. Just drove over there from JD Broussard side - couldn't see any standing water up to the curve.
One hour across from my subdivision has flooded yard. But it's another one that routinely does they with heavy rain so I don't see it as a sign of backflow. Low yard with a pond in the front

Thanks my bil lives there and they are the most laid back people on the planet. They're probably not even aware of everything going on elsewhere with the backflooding or whatever.

Just saw a convoy of high water vehicles, humvees, air boats and boats come from Starring to Burbank and then down Gardere towards Nicholson.

Also saw a couple high water vehicles turn in towards the subdivision behind Albertsons on Burbank and Bluebonnet

just got back from helping a friend get stuff out of their house on Teal dr in St. Amant. Waded through water 3 1/2-4 ft in the street. roughly 2 ft inside of the house. definitely some houses in that area with even more water inside.

Just passed through Sherwood to S Harrell's ferry and to O'Neal. The Starbucks on sherwood area still has some water but saw a couple smaller cars pass through. Polly not recommended though. S Harrell's ferry and O'Neal are pretty much bone dry thankfully. This is up to the wall Mart on O'Neal. I turned around after that. Just wanted to update.

Anyone know what the situation is on Joe Sevario where Merritt Evans crosses? I live on the street near the volunteer fire dept substation. Just wondering what the water situation looks like. (We evac'd to a relative's house yesterday afternoon.)

Rise in Machac gauge at bluff swamp seems to be slowing

Was rising at 0.6 feet per hour for the last 4-5 hours

Now at 0.4 feet per hour from noon to 1pm

My point was that AT&T's issues are being framed like they just told the BR area to frick off when that wasn't the case. They're at fault for the reliability, but they weren't trying to screw people over.
They weren't trying to do it, but they certainly allowed them to get screwed over.

FWIW, my beef with AT&T goes back to earlier this year when my company was totally without phone service for 6 days. For 6 straight days I called, and called, and called, and nobody could tell me anything. Except for the technicians I visited with who were working on the bad box/node. They told me the equipment was 20+ years old, and replacement parts were not readily available for it. I know it's just an anecdote, but to me that's indicative of the way the whole place runs (or doesn't). They fly by the seat of their pants, fingers crossed, hoping nothing bad happens. We didn't even have bad weather, no storm, no hurricane... the equipment just went out and they were totally unprepared. Business phone service down for nearly a week. Pathetic.

Do you think anybody at AT&T ever thought "hey if something happens at this one single location in Baton Rouge, the whole area would be without service"? If they did, do you think they took the time to do something about it? Obviously not.

I have an empty condo on Brightside View drive. If it isn't flooded I would like to send my displaced family there. I live 2 hours away and can't get there to check it out.

Is there anyway you could check that area?
