Burbank and Gardere is dry. Spring lake is still dry. Storm drains are about a foot from street level.

Anyone know how West Creek Estates of Germany Rd in Gonzales is? I have a friend there but don't know how that area is. It's close to Black Bayou.

You have to cross the Amite at LA37 north of Watson.

Yeah I drove by that same area about an hour ago. Same result. I wonder what authorities know that we dont and why they are sending boats there

Is Woodridge in threat of flooding. I'm in central helping my mom and need to know if I need to go back home.

Is it in a flood zone?

Yesterday was pretty crazy. Flood waters pretty much gone from the dirty Shenandoah. We had water a couple of feet from the door, neighbors had it at the door, and the houses on the corner and on Kennesaw/Chadsford weren't so lucky. It was an area that hadn't flooded in the 40 years it's been built.

Streets on the low end near the creek are flooded. Dry on the high end (towards Highland and the tracks). Not sure about homes, but MNCBaby says they're not flooded.

Where are y'all getting the pictures of the river levels with the predicted levels
Posted on 8/15/16 at 12:43 pm to geaux7122
Woodridge, No.
The houses on the lake in briarwood, maybe. The water hadn't seemed to move much at all over the last few hours. But it still isn't going anywhere.

For those interested, you can find relevant river gages here.
Here are the relevant gages that are not utterly useless, as many are not reporting properly.
EBR Parish
Ascension Parish
It is fairly obvious there is a delay in the "crest" you'll see in the backwater flooding and the actual crest of the Amite River at the mouth of the tributary. For instance, the crest of the Amite @ Bayou Manchac point was expected around 1AM, yet areas like the Bluff Swamp near Kleinpeter seem to still be rising. The crest of the River near Port Vincent is basically happening now, and you're seeing the Henderson Bayou near Port Vincent gage respond accordingly. It saw a violent rise of more than 8 feet in 12 hours, but it will be one of the first in the immediate are to see relief as well.

I'd say making sure a switching center isn't in a low lying area would be something to consider. Yes I know the area wasn't supposed to flood.
If you play that card then why not blame everyone who's home flooded? Point is STFU. They had issues just like everyone else in this part of the world, and IMO they did pretty well at figuring it out in a relatively decent amount of time.

I appreciate your updates. MrsWafer and BabyWafer are at home in fairhill while I'm at work and I'm nervous af.

Has the bridge on Babin cleared or is it still covered? Ive been sitting with Mom at St Elizabeth's all day so can't be an eyewitness to the area, but am happy to see the gauge continue to go down.
