My grandparents live on the left cul de sac from spyglass hill. Any idea if water has entered those houses?

Dawson Creek at Balis Dr has been falling very slowly for the past 24 hours. No discernible flow.

Bayou Duplainer at Lee has held steady at about the same level for the past 24 hours. Can't see any flow.

Bayou Fountain at Lee has fallen about 1 inch in the last 24 hours. Flooding in the Winn Dixie parking lot has gone down by about that amount. Something I don't understand though is that the sewer manhole covers on Highland at Lee have been leaking water for the past 24 hours. Yesterday it was just a tiny trickle of water. As of 15 minutes ago, water is shooting out of the manhole covers about 3 inches into the air.

Those manhole covers on Highland are 5 to 10ft higher than the water level in Bayou Fountain. Not sure why they have pressure on them like that.

There is a way to get into BR from Denham/Walker.

You have to cross the Amite at LA37 north of Watson.

Is this for sure clear? Trying to navigate for someone stuck in LP. Would the best way be to go north through Clinton and over to US 61, then south to BR? Trying not to run into any closures near Central.

Uneducated guess says we will continue to see backflow in certain areas areound BR, but it will not be a significant enough amount of water to actually reach any homes or do any damage.

If you mean in EBR parish, you're probably right. Areas by Alligator Bayou and the Bluff Swamp gage are still showing increasing water levels, but everything else seems to be flat, receding, or increasing, but still significantly lower than the water got on Friday and Saturday in those waterways (Ward Creek @ Innisworld and Westminster, for example).

Ascension Parish still has quite a while before they're out from the siege.

As far as houses flooded, I think only a few houses have water in them.

Any idea which homes?

My house is the second to last one on the right (facing golf course) on Southern Hills in Charleston (moved away, still own it). Trying to keep tabs on it from afar.

Ok. There is no way at this moment to get to James even if you could get into Denham.they have it blocked off at hiway 16 from the east and Florida Blvd is block all over coming from BR.

FWIW, supposedly their issues stemmed from a switching center being flooded. Do as you see fit, but this wasn't exactly an AT&T customer service screw up or something.
No, you're right. Customer service screw-ups are easy to fix. AT&T's problems are much deeper than that. It seems to me that AT&T is allowing the bean counters to make infrastructure decisions, rather than people who actually know what's going on.

They are not proactive at all in identifying problems. They keep equipment in service until it totally fails. They are more concerned with showing quarterly profits than they are with actually keeping their network online.

It's not just this event. AT&T's network is fragile, cellular and landline. Those who plan to switch after this event are justified in doing so, IMO. Switching to something better might just save your life in the future.

ETA: Sorry for ranting in this thread, but I think it's clear now that reliable phone service is crucial, and I don't think AT&T is capable of providing reliable service anymore.

HOA don't take a day off just because of a little water. They'll fine your arse for letting the grass gorw.

I live near the intersection of Wards Creek and Dawson's Creek. Placed a gauge and will see if I can capture a few measurements. Will keep you guys posted. It is a little hard to tell direction of flow. Not nearly the southern flow of yesterday and rather still. I suspect the wind is giving a bit of a surface ripple that can be interpreted as a northern flow direction.

Yeah I mean Verizon, Sprint, and other carriers didn't seem to have issues, so that is a perfectly justified reason to switch to them. My point was that AT&T's issues are being framed like they just told the BR area to frick off when that wasn't the case. They're at fault for the reliability, but they weren't trying to screw people over.

What pharmacy are you trying to get to????

A local pharmacy here said that they can fill emergency prescriptions NO MATTER WHERE THE ORIGINAL PHARMACY IS. Maybe just get to the closest!

eta: National Guard went to the home of a pharmacist to bring her to her store to fill rxs for a patient leaving the hospital. Why did the hospital not just keep said patient??? Water all around and they're d/cing people ... and no census isn't full so it's not for space.
