I am very concerned about this area as well. Please keep me posted, if you will be up.
Will do.
At this moment, there is no immediate danger to anyone.

Me too. I was worried about the drainage area and the lake, but all was well minus the many roof/window leaks

I know this is primarily a br and lp thread. But water is beginning to back up in hammond, ponchatoula, and springfield areas.

Scanner just said Jones Creek @ Coursey has water over the road.

Passer by just told a cop that Jones Creek is coming up onto Coursey

I turned off WAFB streaming a while ago. Has there been any official word from authorities warning people about this backwater situation? I fear thousands of people are going to bed tonight thinking they're fine, only to step out of bed into a foot of water in the morning.

Anyone know who you can call to come put up barricades? The water is getting to high and way too much traffic is trying to use the road as a cut through.

As per scanner, Jones Creek is now coming over the road at Coursey. The entire Jones Creek flood plain is about to be bad. They are talking about having to rescue people.

Can you provide a link to scanner please?

Tuscany West will have water if this pattern holds.

Sounds like people are now calling police about Jones Creek flooding reaching back porches but no specific streets mentioned

I agree. I've been browsing the local news websites and haven't really noticed anything. I find this thread to be 1000xs more helpful and user friendly.

It was mentioned, but certainly not to the extent we've been talking about it here. Really sucks that appears what is going to happen.

If I'm reading the map right, it's 4 feet or so higher than the flood zone next to it. This might be worse than we all expected.

Going to be close...but I think they'll be okay. They are 5-6 feet above the flood stage.
I hope it doesn't get anywhere near that high.
good thing for me there is I was in a 2nd floor apt
Diamond Lakes in Laffy was another issue
either way... I probably would've been called into work today I'm guessing if I still had those same jobs

I think there's a lack of understanding of the issue there...or an underestimation of the problem.
