Lake Sherwood is starting to see some problems. I don't think anything on Sherwood Forest between Coursey or I-12 is in immediate danger unless it's right up next to that creek crossing near Newcastle street....or if the flooding is significantly worse than expected.

Honestly that's a possibility.

Current back flow situation - Red areas mean that water is flowing backwards from a cresting Amite:

Backflow will peak in the red areas, looks like noon tomorrow. This is the crest at Denham, which is upstream from where it is currently backflowing - so these areas are going to literally continue to backflow until noon and possibly even midnight tomorrow, and it will stay put for a day or more.

Expect backflow to begin in Bayou Fountain in the next few hours, and for it not to peak til Monday.

Thank you, Boat, and everyone else for the updates and information. We are in Shenandoah on Halls Ferry and I am getting very worried. Already have family here with us because they were getting water in their houses. Please, everyone be careful and pray.

I just went and looked at this area. Weiner Creek still has at least 6-7 feet before it becomes an issue. Lake Sherwood is beginning to see some of Weiner Creek backflow into its lake, though, but it looks as though it'll take at least 4.5 feet just to make it into the lakefront backyards.

I am very concerned about this area as well. Please keep me posted, if you will be up.

Looks like Amite at DS is peaking if the river boys are correct.

Jones Creek will peak soon.
Claycut Bayou about 8 hours or so later if I had to guess.

Manchac tomorrow night or early Monday

Going to be close...but I think they'll be okay. They are 5-6 feet above the flood stage.

I hope it doesn't get anywhere near that high.

Yes, please keep us informed about Weiner creek and Lake Sherwood. I think there may be enough water coming to surprise some people.
